What is 'Tomorrow' and where can you read the webcomic?
For those of you wondering, 'Tomorrow' is based on a rather popular webcomic by the same name. Written by Llama, the series currently has 242 chapters (or episodes) on Naver and is updated weekly every Saturday. While it is free to read on Naver, the chapters are in Korean. For the English translation, fans can read the series on Webtoons, where there are currently 22 chapters translated.
With most chapters garnering a 9.9-star rating, it is safe to say that the series is exceedingly popular. 'Tomorrow' follows the story of 27-year-old Junwung, who ends up as half-human, half spirit due to an accident. When he joins the grim reaper group, 'Flashback', he begins to help them save humans, who have reached extremely low points in their life, giving them the motivation to live on and persevere.
As per the official summary, "Junwung, an unemployed college graduate, slips into a coma when he accidentally falls off of a bridge. While he's in a comatose state, he gets an offer from the crisis response team of the underworld company Flashback to temporarily join their team. If he accepts this offer, he could wake up early from the coma and even get rid of the karma from his past life that's been holding him back from getting jobs! He's got nothing better to do tomorrow, so it's a beautiful day to save lives… with these grim reapers!!"
Who is Llama, the artist and author behind 'Tomorrow'?
Not much is known about the artist and author of 'Tomorrow', other than that she goes by the name Llama and can be found on Instagram under the handle @blank_llama_. 'Tomorrow' also appears to be her first webcomic, however, her Instagram does feature frequent works with her pseudonym in them.
In a press release put out by Naver Webtoon, the artist and author opened up about having her work turned into a feature series. "I am touched to see my webtoon series being dramatized. I am thrilled and excited to see the first episode and I hope the readers and viewers to enjoy the series, as much as they enjoyed the webtoon," she said, as reported by the Korean Herald.
'Tomorrow' premieres on Netflix on April 1, 2022.
