'Today's Webtoon': Kim Seojeong & Nam Yoon Su gear up for remake of Japanese series

Kim Sejeong will star as On Ma Eum and Nam Yoon Su will play Goo Joon Young in SBS' drama 'Today's Webtoon', which is based on the Japanese series 'Sleepeeer Hit!'

Kim Seojeong is coming back to our screens again! Despite her Covid status, she has already been signed to act in SBS' upcoming drama titled 'Today's Webtoon' along with actor Nam Yoon Su. Kim Seojeon, who is making headlines in the K-drama world with her amazing acting skills in ‘A Business Proposal’, has made all her fans happy with the news. Moreover, model and actor Nam Yoon Su is back to swoon the hearts of all his admirers in this Japanese remake.

'Today's Webtoon' is a remake of the successful 2016 Japanese drama 'Sleepeeer Hit!'. The drama follows a former judo athlete who works as a new employee in the webtoon editorial department and struggles to evolve into a true webtoon editor. The drama will also depict South Korea's competitive spirit in the field. Nam Yoon Su, who was said to be in talks for the drama earlier this year, has finally been confirmed as a cast member.

Kim Sejeong has been cast as On Ma Eum, a rookie contract employee who challenges all odds to join the webtoon editorial department. On Ma Eum had to give up her athletic career after a match that tore her ankle ligament. But when she brings meals to the webtoon editorial department, she begins to dream again. Nam Yoon Su has been cast as Goo Joon Young, who gets inspired by On Ma Eum and tries to put his heart and mind into everything he does. The duo’s romance evolves in the plot. 

Who is Nam Yoon Su?

Nam Yoon Su began his acting career as a model in 2014 and 2015 when he was featured in various music videos. He waited a couple more years before beginning his acting career with ‘4 Kinds of House’. He recently wowed viewers with his warm and gentle charms in KBS2's ‘The King's Affection’, in which he played Lee Hyun. Following that, he appeared in a number of dramas, including ‘I'm Not a Robot', ‘Extracurricular’, and ‘Beyond Evil’. Nam Yoon Su was also confirmed to star in the new Kakao TV drama 'Borrowed Body' earlier this month.
