Last year, Netflix stunned the entire world by producing one of the most controversial documentary series of all time, ‘Tiger King’, on its platform. The series not only showed the reality behind the big cat owners, but it also showed the extreme lengths they were willing to go to in order to stay relevant in the business.

The docuseries primarily focused on Joe Exotic, but there were several characters introduced that also had a crazy background. One of the characters that nabbed all the eyeballs was none other than Doc Antle. The larger-than-life figure was once considered to be a lover of big cats, but it all came crashing down when the reality behind his love for tigers came out.

Doc Antle, also known as Mahamayavi Bhagavan Antle, began his professional career in the 1980s.  He started a private zoo operation in Myrtle Beach, California, in 1983. However, his world came crashing down when he was fined by the USDA for abandoning deer and peacocks at his zoo in Virginia in 1989. Meanwhile, in 2019, the authorities raided his zoo for issues related to big cats. On the other hand, he was also investigated for the illegal sale of tigers and other animals.
