We have the conclusive list of all your favorite NBC shows going on a break after this week, along with where they left us, what we can expect when the show returns, and the details on when exactly the shows will return
Some of our favorite shows aired their midseason finales this week and while we are all thankful for all the epic cliffhangers and plot twists that entertained us, it is going to be hard to not see our OTPs and watch our beloved characters on the screen every week. NBC is one of the major networks that is taking most of its prime-time shows off the air until the next year, but fear not, we have you covered.
Here we have the conclusive list of all your favorite NBC shows going on a break after this week, along with where they left us, what we can expect when the show returns, and the details on when exactly the shows will return:
Seemingly shifting into a melodrama-esque territory, 'Chicago Med' ended on many cliffhangers in the fall finale, with Natalie's (Torrey DeVitto) memories coming back and her confessing her feelings to Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) only to be rejected by him, crushing the Manstead ship for good - at least for now. We also saw April (Yaya DaCosta) kissing Marcel (Dominic Rains) in the finale and when the show returns, we will see her dealing with the guilt of cheating on Ethan Choi (Brian Tee), especially since he is coming back from a deployment in time for the midseason premiere. Interestingly enough, there may also be a storyline about April being pregnant, and you don't need us telling how that is going to complicate things for April.
Season 5 Episode 10, which marks the mid-season premiere of 'Chicago Med' will be aired at 8/7c on Wednesday, January 8.
After giving us the 'CrOtis' moment we did not know we needed, 'Chicago Fire' went on a fall break this week leaving us with a very grave and dangerous cliffhanger with Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) facing off against a contract arsonist, and it may be one of the most dangerous fights we’ve ever seen for him. We have no doubts about whether he will survive this, but we are surely excited to see how he will manage to do it.
Season 8 Episode 10, which marks the mid-season premiere of 'Chicago Fire' will be aired at 9/8c on Wednesday, January 8.
Of all the beloved One Chicago shows, 'Chicago PD' had the most dramatic mid-season finale, with Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer) getting shot in final moments. The promo for the upcoming episode in the series shows that all his friends, family and colleagues are worried about his recovery, but fans know one thing for sure - if they kill Jay off, they will take to the streets. The silver lining in this terrible story development is Hailey Upton's (Tracy Spiridakos) reaction to him being shot, which helped confirm fans' speculations about the two of them being in love. Some fans are even calling them Romeo and Juliet.
Season 7 Episode 10, which marks the mid-season premiere of 'Chicago PD' will be aired at 10/9c on Wednesday, January 8.
The Good Place
After a year of experimenting on four human test subjects, Michael (Ted Danson), Eleanor (Kristen Bell), Janet (D'Arcy Carden), Tahani (Jameela Jamil), and Jason (Manny Jacinto) were able to prove to the Judge (Maya Rudolph) that humans aren't all bad. However, her immediate response to this revelation was to destroy Earth altogether and start over. Hoping to provide an alternate solution the team has woken Chidi (William Jackson Harper) up and restored his memory. The second half of the fourth and final season of 'The Good Place' will see what that solution is and we are excited about it.
Season 4 Episode 10, which marks the mid-season premiere of 'The Good Place' will be aired at 10/9c on Thursday, January 9.
This is Us
One of NBC's biggest shows ever, 'This is Us' revealed some huge secrets as per tradition in time for the mid-season finale. We learned that Rebecca (Mandy Moore) has detected early signs of Alzheimer's in herself and has sought the help of her son Randall (Sterling K Brown). We also see that things get a lot worse for her ten years down the line, not just in terms of the disease, but also because her children are fighting. Kevin (Justin Hartley), and presumably Kate (Chrissy Metz) are not on talking terms with Randall on their 40th birthday. It may also have been teased that Toby (Chris Sullivan) and Kate are heading towards divorce in the future.
Season 4 Episode 10, which marks the mid-season premiere of 'This is Us', will be aired at 9/8c on Tuesday, January 14.
The medical drama, which saw its doctors going through the many ups and lows of life this season so far ended on one of the most dramatic cliffhangers ever. As we saw, Helen (Freema Agyeman) and Max (Ryan Eggold) had taken it upon themselves to help the female prisoners at Rikers Island, and in the process gave a group of women tasked with killing a state witness the opening they needed to plan her murder. When the show returns we will see how all that pans out, and we are certainly looking forward to seeing how these women are stopped and peace is restored at New Amsterdam. We are also excited to see how Max helps Helen keep her job after the board stripped her of her role as the co-chair of Oncology and Deputy Medical Director to Max.
Season 4 Episode 10, which marks the mid-season premiere of 'New Amsterdam', will be aired at 10/9c on Tuesday, January 14.
