Jershika Maple reaches semifinals after a nail-biter

Jershika Maple, before getting the ‘Instant Save’ for the semifinals told her mentor John Legend how free she felt on the singing reality show and thanked him for guiding her all along the way. Getting equally emotional, John said that how grateful he was to have her on the team. Ariana Grande too got emotional when she saw Jershika, Jeremy and Holly in the bottom three. The global star said that it did not make any sense seeing these three in the bottom.

Jershika Maple works as a full-time security guard to pay her bills and she has been singing in church for as long as she remembers. She had also joined the choir to make sure she continues singing when not on the job. Speaking of the singing reality show, the semifinals will now be aired in the second week of December.

'Want her to win for sure’

The fans of ‘The Voice’ thronged to Twitter to express their views on Jershika Maple getting saved for the semifinals. “Congrats Jershika but i feel sorry for Holly and Jeremy they was better then some other”, said one user as another pitched in, “I love Ariana but… if we’re looking at this as a true competition, and who brought it the most to stay, Jershika earned it. The other two seemed shaky with nerves, understandably. But Jershika held her own from the beginning of her performance.”

Meanwhile, one user tweeted, “America made the right choice to save Jershika. DONT LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN!”, as another added, “This is what yall get for voting Jim & Sasha over Holly Forbes smh. Jershika deserved it the most anyway tho.”  One user added, “Jershika is so extremely talented and I’m happy she was saved. honestly want her to win for sure. I just really wish Ariana still had holly on her team. holly was amazing.”  The next one posted, “Meh I ain't mad Jershika got saved out of those 3 she had the best performance tonight.”  One elated individual said, “IM SO HAPPY JERSHIKA DESERVED!!!” While other concluded, “Congratulations Jershika Maples for being saved on the Voice tonight!! She is one of KISD’s own!! We are so proud of how far she has come!!”
