The last round of ‘The Voice’ Season 21 knockouts premiered on Monday, November 1 where we again saw the last batch going head to head to grab the coveted spot in the live playoffs. From Team Kelly, we saw Jeremy Rosado and the Xavier Trinity Cornell locking horns with an intention to advance to the next round.

Jeremy, who has so far garnered all the praises from the rest of the coaches namely Ariana Grande, Blake Shelton, and John Legend, crooned his rendition of Whitney Houston’s ‘Run to You’. The 17-year-old Xavier, on the other hand, decided to mesmerize the coaches on his rendition of ‘Falling Slowly’- the very first song that he learned on his guitar. Social media users too showed keen interest in both ‘The Voice’ contestants as they rushed to Twitter to express their valuable opinions.

Kelly Clarkson picks Jeremy Rosado over Xavier Cornell

Jeremy was the first one to hit the stage as he left all the judges on the show thrilled with his smooth vocals. The teen singer Cornell too nailed his performance during the knockouts. Speaking on Jeremy’s performance, Blake Shelton said that he was fine when he took the lower notes but ramped it up as soon as he sang the higher notes. Blake on Xavier added that he had a wild factor that was so much fun.

While the rest of the coaches were divided between Jeremy and Xavier, it was on Kelly to take the final call. After much consideration and hesitation, she ultimately picked Jeremy as the winner of the knockout round. Unfortunately, the rest of the judges refrained from stealing the young crooner for their respective teams. This left a lot of social media users disappointed as they felt Xavier was far better when compared to Jeremy.

'Xavier’s technique is so far ahead of Jeremy’s’

Social media users thronged to Twitter as soon as Kelly picked Jeremy over Xavier. “Like there were slight issues w both of their voices. Both were pitchy at times but Xavier outsang Jeremy AND has so much more potential smh #thevoiceknockouts”, said one user as another posted, “Xavier’s technique is so far ahead of jeremy’s it’s not even funny.”

The next one tweeted, “Jeremy killed that Whitney song he deserves to move forward. But Xavier also killed his song like it was something about his voice.” Another user shared, “Literally how Jeremy was flat Xavier outsang him being a decade younger.” Meanwhile, one posted, “Xavier was actually really good especially for 17 but you can’t go against A WHITNEY SONG.” And, another concluded, “Jeremy is a great technical singer but Xavier won this for me; his tone has character that you can't teach.”
