'The Voice' 2022: Who is Valarie Harding? Camilla Cabello expresses regret over not turning for her
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Music in her blood, a new contestant made it her goal to make the judges swoon. Valarie Harding auditioned on Episode 3 with Aretha Franklin's 'Giving Him Something He Can Feel' and definitely left a mark, as judge John Legend claims she's "giving him something he can feel".
The Tulsa native made the classic song feel fresh, earning her chair turns from John and Gwen Stefani. Blake and Camilla Cabello did not turn at all. But later Camilla seemed to express major regret regarding her decision not to turn for Valarie. Although Gwen called her performance 'lazy', because of her timing, but she did appreciate it as it added to her performance. On the other hand, John was all praise for Valarie, stating he hadn't heard a voice like hers and complimented her vibrato. In the end, she picked Team John over Team Gwen. Who is Valarie Harding?
Valarie Harding claims to have music in her blood. Hailing from Tulsa, Oklahoma, the 41-year-old works with her family at a sound and event setup company. According to her family members, Valarie is constantly singing, even while she's working. is a regular performer at the Retro Bar and Grill in Tulsa with the Thursday Night Retro Band and also performs regularly at Tulsa's DW Speakeasy. Since 2014, she's been married to fellow musician Parry Harding, also a member of that retro band.
After her soulful performance of Aretha Franklin's song, "Giving Him Something He Can Feel", she received major praise from John and ended up on his team. Camilla misjudged the scenario and did not turn for the singer but later expressed her regret. On the other hand, her insights about the performance were spot on as she pointed out that Valarie can make a song her own.
