LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Picking the right song that flatters your vocals and style is as important as having a great vocal range. 23-year-old Julia Aslanli from Orlando, Florida, seems to have learned this the hard way after her stint on 'The Voice' Season 22.

The brunette beauty auditioned for the NBC singing competition show with a performance of 'Let's Stay Together'. Although John Legend and Camila Cabello thought that Julia's voice bore a striking resemblance to Ariana Grande's, neither of them turned. Julia joined Team Gwen since only Gwen Stefani turned her chair. In case you're wondering why the judges chose not to turn for someone who sang like Ariana, then you can blame Julia's poor song choice.

The judges pointed out how Julia's performance would have been a lot better had she picked the right song that flattered her voice. Fans too agreed with the judges, and hoped to see Julia's full range of talent when she returns for the battles round. A fan tweeted, "@camila_cabello #TheVoice I feel Julia played it safe with her song choice, that said....the right song will shock rock her audience. You may have missed out on this one. Her range was great, and with her own twist." "@camila_cabello #TheVoice i agree with you . Julia voice was nice but i wasn’t a fan of the song choice," wrote a fan. "Not really that wowed by the ARRANGEMENT of Julia's song she chose (though I like what she was trying to do with her voice with it -- however I THINK the arrangement is WHY only Gwen turned) #TheVoice," commented a fan.

Who is Julia Aslanli?

Julia is a 23-year-old pre-med student from Orlando, Florida. In her introduction package, Julia revealed that she enjoys horse riding and singing. Her life turned upside down when she found out that she was pregnant when she was 18 years old. She juggled between her education and raising her child, while still retaining her passion for singing. She thanked her fiance for being very supportive of all her dreams and passions.

Julia shared how 'The Voice' is her first ever live performance. While she was used to performing for her family and friends, the youngster never performed live onstage, so she was very thrilled about appearing on the NBC show. Despite her poor song choice, Julia's vocals managed to shine through earning her a chair turn from Gwen. We can't wait to watch Julia's journey on 'The Voice'.

'The Voice' Season 22 airs on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and is available for streaming on Peacock.
