'The Trust: A Game of Greed' fans call out winner Tolu Ekundare for being 'villain' of Netflix show as she accepts $25K offer
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, CARIBBEAN: 'The Trust: A Game of Greed' Season 1 winner Tolu Ekundare secretly accepted the $25,000 offer during the Netflix show's finale. The contestant visited the vault for the first and the last time.
She was tempted by the offer in which she could take $25,000 from the $268,000 prize pot.
The offer was, "Name an amount up to $25,000 that you would like to take from the Trust. If you bid the highest number it's yours to keep." And Tolu bid the highest number.
While accepting the offer Tolu noted that she was doing this for her parents and said, "No amount of promises that I've made to this group would make me break the first promise I made to my parents."
Tolu decided to keep her offer a secret and told her co-player that she hadn't taken the offer. During the final trust ceremony, Tolu's co-players were left stunned when Netflix show host, Brooke Baldwin, revealed that the finale cash prize pot includes $243,000.
However, Netflix shows viewers left furious over Tolu's betrayal and called her a 'villain'. A social media user commented, "Tolu really up here acting like she didn't take the money. Wow! It's not hard to tell the truth. You can't get voted out anymore and yet she still a damn liar. Wow!!!"
Another person added, "Tolu saying they not gonna make her feel like a shit person. GIRL!!! You are what you are. It's just that simple." Another critic noted, "Tolou is a bitch and it’s clear she came to be the villain." Another viewer penned, "Not Tolú deciding to be the villain of the trust!"
Another furious viewer claimed, "Tolu showed this group a million times that they couldn't trust her but yet she played all them to the end. Smh crazy yall allowed her to make it to the end."
Another X user tweeted, "Tolu took the money you idiots 😂🤑 Like seriously you should've gotten rid of her when you had the chance but your all dumb fucks 😂 and THIS IS WHY YOUR DESERVE TO LOSE MONEY!"

'The Trust: A Game of Greed' Season 1 finale dubbed as 'anticlimactic'
'The Trust: A Game of Greed' Season 1 finale episode was recently aired on Netflix. The episode kicked off with Julie Theis taking accountability for her lie and mending her relationship with her co-players. However, the episode ended up awarding the five players an equal share of the prize pot.
The finale episode also featured Tolu Ekundare's betrayal as she took $25K from the prize pot and lied to her co-players. However, the Netflix show viewers suggested that the finale could have been more interesting if the host Brooke Baldwin had told the co-players about Tolu's lie.
A social media user tweeted, "#TheTrustNetflix was honestly a great watch but that last episode…driest finale I’ve seen in my life and that’s saying a lot." Another person added, "#TheTrustNetflix was so good but the finale was so anticlimactic…"
Another critic noted, "They definitely should’ve had Brooke reveal that the total was only 243k BEFORE they casted their votes. I guarantee the finale would’ve been way messier. I don’t think everyone would’ve chosen to share knowing that someone took the money & lied."
"That finale was a snooze." Another disappointed viewer suggested, "The finale was dry asf. 🫠 The show definitely needs some tweaks for season 2, but I still enjoyed season 1," one internet user penned,
Another X user tweeted, 'That finale was so anticlimactic, very strange they didn't reveal that someone took the final offer. For a show that strives to be dramatic, it would have made it much more interesting. Also, they should have revealed the total value before the votes, not after!"
