'Stop changing the format': Angry 'The Masked Singer' fans slam show after Chris Kirkpatrick's elimination
'The Masked Singer' Season 8's second episode is on the floor! The show has brought some big changes this season. Introducing changes like themed nights and sudden eliminations were supposed to be liked by the fans. However, as the show proceeds, fans are booing the channel for constantly changing the format of the show.
The last released episode of the week showed Harp as its queen. Well, the other two costumes were unmasked and sent home. Similar to that, the second week's episode showed the unmasking of two costumes and the other two going for the 'Battle Reunion'. The show has different themed night performances every week. Well, the latter one seems to be liked by many of the fans. But, the unmasking of celebs under the masked costume every week is not well received by 'The Masked Singer' fans.

What is 'The Masked Singer' Season 8's new format?
According to the new format of the show, every week three to four singers are competing against each other. And, each week the show is determined to finalize a 'King' or a 'Queen' at the end of the episode. If three masked singers are competing in the show, then one among them is destined to get unmasked in the middle of the show. The other two get the chance to move ahead in the game and compete for 'Battle Royale'. After that, one person is unmasked and the remaining one is crowned and moved ahead for the second week's episode. Each episode has one king or queen. In the end, the show gets three contestants for the semifinals.
The new format of the show has a themed night every week. Moreover, the show is set to bring celebrity cameos every week like Donny Osmond, Leslie Jordan, Joel McHale, Andrew Lloyd Webber, The Muppets, and many more. Instead of waiting for five weeks straight, fans and viewers are supposed to keep up with the game for one hour. This new format is a lot different from the last season's which had masked singers divided into teams and fans used to get enough time to recognize time.
Fans are vexed with the new format and took to social media to vent out their frustration. A fan booed at the show's new format, stating, "This new format s***s. I don’t like so many people going home after just one performance. @MaskedSingerFOX #TheMaskedSinger."
"#TheMaskedSinger needs to stop changing the format. I don't like this one person moves every week," wrote another angry fan.
Well, many believed that Chris Kirkpatrick dressed as Hummingbird deserved more than one performance. "I’m still pissed at this new format on #TheMaskedSinger. Chris deserved more than one performance," a fan tweeted. Another added, "Not a fan of the format. #TheMaskedSinger."
