'The Bachelorette' Season 21 cast members were slammed by fans for casually using the word 'bully'

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: The July 15 episode of 'The Bachelorette' sparked chaos among the suitors over Jenn Tran. As insults flew, Bachelor Nation particularly took particular offense to the casual use of the word "bully".

On the Monday episode, Devin Strader was the first to approach Jenn for a conversation, which enraged the other males. Many people believe Devin lacks regard for them and has broken his word.

Thomas Nguyen stresses that he will not accept disrespect and interrupts Devin's conversation with Jenn to confront him. Jenn overhears Thomas and Devin's furious confrontation, in which Thomas labels Devin an a*****e.

He says Devin promised them time with Jenn beforehand, which Devin emphatically rejects. Thomas claims that he and others did not spend enough time with Jenn on the second group date, with only one man getting extra time with her at the end of the night.

Devin responds that Thomas is humiliating himself by interrupting his conversation with Jenn to argue, instead of talking to Jenn and strengthening their bond.

They soon part ways, and Devin rejoins the other men, hinting at underlying tensions. Devin claims that whatever he does, he will always face criticism for his behavior.

Devin, according to Sam McKinney, has a two-faced personality and does not carry himself as well as some of the other men. Jeremy Simon admires Devin's ability to remain loyal to himself, despite his criticisms. He also points out that Thomas's impetuous interruption showed little regard for Jenn's sentiments.

After Jenn has addressed Thomas's conduct, he goes outdoors to cool down. He confides in Sam Nejad, explaining his battle to control his rage towards Devin. He even says he wants to hit Devin in the face.

Devin quickly follows Thomas outdoors, stating his preference to speak rather than fight. Thomas reacts with a warning that Devin would "get his a*s beat" if he attempted a violent confrontation.

Their confrontation is brief, and Thomas returns inside, accusing Devin of being a "bully" with no morality. Sam McKinney continues to attack Devin, while John Mitchell recognizes Devin's point of view but condemns his actions.

Fans quickly took to social media to slam the cast members as they wrote, "this franchise has the biggest issue with people misusing the word “bully” it’s actually ridiculous. how about “devin’s an a*****e” like you’re not doing yourself any favors mislabeling him." Another person chimed in, "Me hearing the word “bully” yet again."

One user asked, "WHY is the word bully being thrown around like a common adjective???" A fourth user sighed, "Here we go again with grown people not knowing the definition of a bully."

Others suggested, "ok so i fear every contestant that goes on this show needs to learn the definition “bully”. Another added, "Calling people bullies who aren’t actually bullies? It’s giving Sydney."

Who is Thomas Nguyen in 'The Bachelorette' Season 25?

On 'The Bachelorette' premiere night, Thomas made an excellent first impression on Jenn. During their initial conversation, the 31-year-old and Jenn formed a relationship with their families.

"Jenn is stunning. Our connection was more than just physical," Thomas explained during the premiere.

Thomas has already established himself as a potential leader this season with just that one chat. From the looks of the clip, this guy is vying for Jenn's affection.

Thomas is a retirement consultant and certified insurance agent with PRES Financial, according to his LinkedIn profile. He graduated from Florida Southern College in 2014.

He resides in Tucker, Georgia. During one of his first interactions with Jenn, Thomas mentioned that his parents were immigrants from Vietnam.

While displaying his finger tattoos, two of which depicted the Vietnam flag, Thomas revealed that he holds dual citizenship in the United States and Vietnam. Thomas has two brothers and admits that his parents "sacrificed a lot" to provide opportunities for him and his siblings.

The three-time state swimming champion competed for Vietnam's official team.

Who is Devin Strader in 'The Bachelorette' Season 25?

Devin is a freight company owner in Houston. Devin served as Shark Logistics' vice president of acquisitions after attending Louisiana State University from 2014 until 2019.

Since March 2023, he has owned F1 Freight Consultants, a consultancy business located in Texas. According to Reality Steve, Devin may get engaged to Jenn.
