'Gabi is a true comeback story': 'The Bachelor' fans rejoice as she makes comeback with peanut butter cup

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On this week's episode of 'The Bachelor', Gabi Elnicki steps outside and tells producers she hasn't gotten "any validation" from Zach Shallcross. Even though her story includes a redemptive arc, fans cannot feel second-hand embarrassment for her.

The second group date is essentially a cocktail party. Gabi, Greer, Jess, Charity, Aly, Kimberly, Ariel, Kaity, and Victoria accompany Zach. "Tonight will be the first time I have a first conversation with quite a few of these women," the Bachelor explains. Gabi, who thinks she has the least connection with Zach of the girls, is at the top of the list.

"It's hard not to pick yourself apart in this environment," Gabi sighs. When the time comes for Gabi to meet with the Bachelor, she has big plans. "I'm gonna wrap in quirky, fun, here's where I'm from, who I am, and then get deep, all in one," she says half-jokingly to the other ladies, adding, "And then I'm going to tie a little bow on it, maybe give him a little [makes kiss noise]."

The conversation... does not begin well. Gabi jumps right in, declaring that she enjoys giving people nicknames. "Can I call you Zacharius? Zachy? Zachy-poo? Zachary? " She then veers into a discussion about how close she is to her family and how she needs a mate who values stable family life. Zach, from what we can see, doesn't have much of a chance to speak. Gabi is concerned that her "word vomiting" will drive the Bachelor away when she returns to the holding pen.

Gabi exits the scene in tears as Zach fails to mention his conversation with her during his pre-date rose speech. "What did you bring to the table? Nicknames," she chastises herself, adding, "Did my conversation with him literally mean nothing?"

Gabi is significantly more poised in her second meeting with Zach. She appreciates him for taking the time to speak with each woman and expresses her gratitude for being present. He adores it. "With you, I get giddy and butterflies in my stomach constantly," Zach explains. Prepare to fall even harder because Gabi has just brought you your favorite candy: peanut butter cups. "Do you want to Lady and the Tramp it?" she inquires. Gabi went from worst to... well, maybe not first, but she's no longer last.

Fans feel embarrassed for Gabi for trying too hard

Having to sit through Gabi's awkward conversation with herself, a fan wrote, "The reason I could never go on reality tv is because every time I saw a camera I’d have a convo exactly like the one Gabi just had."

Her contstant ranting also got viewers like, "Everyone listening to gabi complain about how she hasn’t talked to zach yet." Summing up her state of mind, a fan wrote, "Gabi is a manifestation of my social anxiety." One viewer added, "Gabi is stresssssssing me out."

After her redemption, some fans were eventually left impressed as one wrote, "Gabi absolutely locked in her rose with the peanut butter cups. You can see it in the look on his face. What a power move." Another person added, "I did not predict Gabi bouncing back from her awkward conversation and Brianna spiraling."

One person quipped, "Gabi told that producer to get her some damn peanut butter cups IMMEDIATELY." Another person wrote, "Gabi is a true comeback story, like a half court shot at the buzzer."

'The Bachelor' 2023 airs on Mondays at 8 pm on ABC.
