'Bad b***h energy' wasted?': 'The Bachelor' fans slam makers for portraying Zach in different light

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The 20 surviving women storm the gates of Casa Bachelor on Day 2 of 'The Bachelor' 2023 and toast their good fortune with a mimosa toast. Host Jesse Palmer hands out the first date card. Kylee, Genevie, Cat, Davia, Bailey, Mercedes, Katherine, Brooklyn, and Brianna climb into the party bus. They're going on a group date! The bus leaves them outside a soundstage, where Latto awaits them.

The entire theme revolves around her song "Big Energy" and determining which of the women are bad girls. What exactly is a bad b***h? The show doesn't appear to understand its own concept. Latto describes it as someone who is attractive on the inside and exterior. A bad b***h is a terrific dancer, which is why everyone is required to form a circle and do their finest movements. "Are you a good dancer?" a producer asks Zach Shallcross as he dances in his confessional. "Nope," he responds, and we admire his self-awareness.

Then Latto announces a surprise; there will be additional women on today's date! The stage doors swung open, revealing Victoria, Tahzjuan, and Courtney on the ramp. These "iconic" Bachelor Nation ladies have come to pass judgment on the bad girls! A bad b***h will draw everyone's attention, therefore, the girls must hunt through a box of props and walk the runway in an eye-grabbing manner. Or is it anything else? Bailey appears in a pink wig. Cat is crawling on all fours while wearing cat ears. Brianna has discovered one of those money guns and is showering cash on Zach as he sits on the chair. Tahzjuan claims that there are some baddies, but in a negative way. "I don’t think they understand the assignment."

The evening continues with the college essay section, in which everyone must walk up onstage and tell about a moment when they were a nasty bitch. Again, no one can agree on what constitutes a bad b***h. Nothing matters, no one is anointed a winner, and everyone is headed to the cocktail reception at that strange antique shop they only go to once a season.

Fans slam producers for the theme of group date

Fans took to social media to express how they felt about the 'Bad B***h Energy' theme the producers were going for. One wrote, "I don’t believe for one second this man came to the producers and said “I’m looking to see which of these women has Bad B***h Energy”."

Another person quipped, "Imagine being told you have to be a bad b***h to date a man who looks like this." One viewer wrote, "Zach: “I’m feeling some real bad bitch energy and I’m feeling like a bad bitch right now” Us:." Another person added, "Zach is not giving one ounce of bad bitch energy at this date."

One fan said, "I’m cracking up. Not because of these stories but because of this whole premise. “Once upon a time I was a bad b***h”" A few of the fans also think this isn't what Zach's looking for himself and wrote, "Why are we wasting Latto’s time?? Zach is not looking for a bad b***h."

On the other hand, one feels, "No hate but this man doesn’t need a Bad B***h, he needs a Christian Girl Autumn girl." Slamming the producers for trying to portray Zach in a different light, one wrote, "The producers making Zach wear a leather jacket to pretend he’s got bad b***h energy."

'The Bachelor' 2023 airs Mondays at 8 pm on ABC.
