LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Acolyte' Episode 4 premiered on Disney+ on June 18, 2024, and the exciting 'Star Wars' adventure series explores the High Republican Era like never before offering a fantastical insight into the rise of the dark powers with the Jedi Order being at its peak.

The show centers around twin sisters Mae and Osha played by Amandla Stenberg, who find themselves on the opposite side of the conflict between the Jedi and the dark forces. As Mae tries to kill Jedi Masters, Osha helps Jedi Master Sol (Lee Jung-Jae) and the other masters in stopping Mae.

Over the first four episodes, Mae is shown to be working for a mysterious masked master who appears at the end of the fourth episode to confront the Jedi Masters and kill Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo) in the forest Khofar.

'Star Wars' fans who have been speculating since the series began seem to have figured out who the masked Sith is.

Fans think Qimir is the Masked Sith Lord

Qimir (Manny Jacinto) is a smuggler who became a disciple of the Sith Lord. He helped Mae kill Torbin (Dean-Charles Chapman) and also knew where Kelnacca was. Fans think that his motive for helping Mae was to keep an eye on her during her quest.

A Reddit user said, "Qimir, I think, is the Master. It's evident to me, they're kinda playing into some tropes." Another Reddit user added, "Qimir at the very least knows way more than he's telling. Bro is acting suspicious lol." Another user commented, "Yeah, at this point it's all but confirmed for me. I really hope it's not some big season ending reveal."

Fans have given him the name 'Darth Bortles' referring to the actor Manny Jacinto's role in 'Good Place'. A Reddit user said, "Darth Bortles theory remains strong!". Explaining the name, a Reddit user said, "The actor that plays Qimir (the person helping Mae) plays a character on 'The Good Place' named Jason who loves the Jacksonville Jaguars and always yells Bortles throughout the series. People have speculated Qimir is The Master, hence Darth Bortles."

Another Reddit user speculated, "The Sith Lord's design and eerie attitude is superb, he's most definitely Qimir, but I think the real twist is that he's just a Sith Apprentice."

There are fans who think that this could just be a red herring. A Reddit user said, "I think Qimir has to be the red herring. I’m thinking it’s Koril or Mother Aniseya especially after tonight and the death of Kelnacca by the sith. It seems like these 4 jedi are more personal to the sith master than previously anticipated."

Why did Mae trap Qimir in Episode 4?

There was a sudden shift in Mae's demeanor in the fourth episode as she was reluctant to kill Kelnacca. We saw Qimir explain to her why killing the Jedi Masters was important for her, giving perhaps the biggest hint about his identity as a Sith.

Mae certainly has second thoughts about killing Kelnacca after realizing that Osha is still alive. Her entire agenda of killing the masters was motivated by the presumed death of her twin Osha but now that she knows Osha is alive, she is unwilling to kill Kelnacca.

She traps Qimir and goes to kill Kelnacca who is already dead. This further raises doubts about Qimir being the Sith Lord as he was the only person who wasn't present when the Sith Lord appeared.
