LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It's time for 'Star Wars' fans to fasten their seat belts as Disney+ is soon releasing 'The Acolyte', a promising addition to the franchise. Created by Leslye Headland, the upcoming sci-fi mystery series explores a fresh part of the 'Star Wars' timeline.

The eight-episodic series, starring Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto and Dafne Keen, will follow a respected Jedi Master investigating a series of crimes.

'The Acolyte' is set 100 years before 'The Phantom Menace'

Set at the end of the High Republic era, about 100 years before 'The Phantom Menace', Disney+'s 'The Acolyte' follows a respected Jedi Master investigating a series of shocking crimes. The investigation leads him to a former Padawan learner and uncovers dark forces at play.

'The Acolyte' revives the franchise's love for exploring different timelines, providing a unique look at a time when the Jedi were at their peak.

The High Republic era, starting 500 years before the 'Skywalker Saga', was marked by the Jedi's exploration missions and their partnership with the Republic to map the galaxy. However, they faced resistance from ancient Sith allies and space pirates.

As the High Republic era ends, 'The Acolyte' shows the Jedi as most powerful and confident, but also hints at their vulnerabilities and the growing political pressures they face.

The upcoming series promises to explore the complexities of the Jedi's relationship with the Republic and the temptations of power, making it an exciting addition to the 'Star Wars' universe.
