With K-pop branching out of South Korea and idols dabbling in other music industries, we are getting several international collaborations with our different favorite artists. In fact, just recently we got Western acts like Pink Sweat$ and Charlie Puth collabs with P1Harmony and BTS’ Jungkook, respectively. K-pop idols are also working with other Asian artists from GOT7’s Jay B teaming up with Filo star James Reid to Shaun of ‘Way Back Home’ fame dueting with Malaysian singer Yuna. And now it seems we are getting a collab between Thai idol actor Jeff Satur and Mamamoo’s Hwasa.

Jeff Satur, a popular Thai idol actor who is currently gracing our screens with the BL drama ‘KinnPorsche’ was in South Korea and teased the project that he was working on. The singer revealed that he had dinner with the co-founder of RBW Entertainment, home to girl group Mamamoo. He also worked as a co-producer, songwriter, and a feature along with other Korean producers and songwriters on a multilingual song. Jeff further shared that the collab was with a female artist. While RBW has female idols like the other Mamamoo members, KARD’s Jiwoo and Somin, Purple Kiss, and Oh My Girl, fans are confident it is with Hwasa.

Jeff Satur and Hwasa hint at collab

Jeff Satur was not the only one to hint at a Korean collab as just a day later, Hwasa too revealed her next project. On June 24, Hwasa attended the legendary Seoul Waterbomb Concert which made a comeback after 2 years. Hwasa stunned everyone in a yellow bikini and performed her hit singles ‘Maria’ and ‘I’m A B’ surrounded by a hyped-up crowd. And it looks like the Gucci x Adidas shoes that she sported were not her only collab.

The Mamamoo star revealed that she was working on a music collaboration. While it could have been with anyone, a majority of fans hope that it is the one Jeff Satur is talking about and the reason why he met her label’s co-founder.

This is not the first time that K-pop and the Thai music industry have collided as previously we got idol actor Mew Suppasit collaborating with Sam Kim, known for his K-drama OSTs. We also got interactions from GOT7’s Bambam collaborating with F.Hero and hanging out with Bright Vachirawit to NCT’s Jaehyun meeting Win Metawin at Prada’s show in Milan Fashion Week.

But the possible collaboration between Jeff Satur and Hwasa is also a win for the LGBTQ+ community as both artists have been allies and vocal about their support. Along with singing several iconic BL OSTs, Jeff himself has acted in BL (boy love) dramas like ‘Ingredients’ and the ongoing hit show ‘KinnPorsche’.
