Stray Kids have turned into their own competition with their new sales record. The JYP Entertainment boy group recently announced the release of their eighth mini-album ‘Oddinary’ and just like every comeback from the group, this one too went all out as the boys recorded their personal best sales with 1.3 million pre-orders in total.

The album is set to release on March 18 but the group has already set a new record in pre-order numbers as of March 16. Stray Kids are keeping their legacy as JYP’s first million-selling artists - a distinction they earned with their last comeback ‘NOEASY’ in 2021. ‘Oddinary’ breaks their last record, making them one of the best-selling boy groups from the fourth generation of K-pop.

Stray Kids’ ‘Oddinary’ sells 1.3 million copies

‘NOEASY’, the last full-length album comeback from Stray Kids, recorded a total of 930K pre-ordered copies up to the day of its release. Having already broken that record by 400K copies, ‘Oddinary’ is expected to sell even more copies before its official release. Stray Kids members announced the release of the album during their second official fan meet with Stays and teased a power-packed comeback with the lead single, ‘Maniac’.

‘Oddinary’ will become the best-selling album from a fourth-generation group if it breaks 'Noeasy's record of 1.33 million copies. All eight members of the group are credited with the writing of the songs on the album and Stray Kids’ in-house producers - 3Racha, made of members Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han - all decorate the credits too, making it another feather in the self-producing group's cap.

The ‘Thunderous’ group is ready to make an extraordinarily odd comeback with ‘Oddinary’ - which is a mash-up of two words, ‘Odd’ and ‘Ordinary’. The title continues their trademark of mashed-up works like ‘Hellevator’ - Hell and elevator and ‘Noeasy’ aka noisy - noise and easy, among others.

'SKZ vs SKZ'

Fans are pointing out how the group needs to sell up to 30,000 more albums in order to make it their all-time best-selling album and make themselves the best-selling boy group from the fourth generation. One fan said, "Skz vs skz who is doing it like them." Another fan said, "Literally who is doing it like skz. no one. no ones doing it like them. theyre just insane."

One fan wrote, "1.3 MILLION MY BOYS IM SO PROUD OF YOU," while another said, "Happy 1.3 million preorders, my two times million seller babies @Stray_Kids!" One fan proclaimed, "HELLO CHAN LEADER OF A 1.3 MILLION SELLER GROUP! SO PROUD OF YOUUU." Another Stay said, "GOOD EVENING TO STRAY KIDS WHO ARE THE 4TH GEN KIGNS,LEADERS AND THE 4TH GEN. GOOD EVENING TO STRAY KIDS WHO GOT 1.3 MILLION PRE-ORDERS FOR A MINI ALBUM. GOOD EVENING TO STRAY KIDS WHO ARE THE ONLY 4TH GEN GROUP TO GET 1.3M PRE ORDERS."
