‘Single’s Inferno’ was one of the hottest Netflix shows in the new year. It was the OTT giant’s first Korean dating show with entrepreneurs, models and celebrities. We had known faces like K-pop dancer Cha Hyun-seung, influencer Song Jia, former idol Kang So-yeon and rookie actor Choi Si-hun. There were also charming participants like An Yea-won, Kim Soo-min and more. ‘Single’s Inferno’ also went on to get nominated at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2022.

Fans loved that the show was honest as the participants assured them that it wasn’t scripted and it gave us fluffy romance and platonic friendships, quite different from the steamy dating shows of the West. All of the participants also saw an increase in fan following while ‘Single’s Inferno’ was one of the top 10 Netflix shows in several countries. So, it was no surprise that Netflix decided to renew ‘Single’s Inferno’ for a Season 2 just three months after Season 1 ended.

‘Single’s Inferno’ gets Season 2

On April 12, Netflix announced that ‘Single’s Inferno’ would get a Season 2. The concept would be the same as participants would be left on a remote ‘hell’ island that they will only be able to escape and go to ‘paradise’ hotel if they find a match. Like Season 1, the participants will be recruited through the internet as Netflix will reach out to them through their social media accounts.

And while fans are excited, they do feel for the guest stars of Season 1. Nine of the participants were regular cast members and were there from the beginning of 'Single's Inferno' which allowed them ample time to get to know each other and successfully pair up with those they liked. However, three new participants, Hyun-seung, Soo-min and Sung Min-ji were introduced in episode 5. And while they stole the viewers’ hearts, they didn’t get enough time to match with anyone making fans wonder if they will get a second chance in season 2.

‘Can’t wait’

Fans discussed wanting to see some of the old cast members who didn’t get enough screentime, “Especially the ones that came late, they deserve a second chance.” Similarly, another fan hoped, “Yayyy! Hope few casts from S1 will comeback in S2.” Another wanted the host, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun to return for his relatable expressions, “Inferno s2 has just been announced so I'm starting to shed braincells in advance  ... Will the singles inferno guy reprise his role though ?” It seems that the hosts equally stole the show as another commented, “Singles inferno season 2??!? get dahee on the island so she can make fun of the men in person.” One fan added, “OMYGHAD SINGLE'S INFERNO SEASON 2 😯 I CAN'T WAIT AHHHHHH.”
