‘Single’s Inferno’ FreeZia's fake designer scandal: Only 20 out of 500 items were fake
South Korean influencer FreeZia aka Song Jia’s controversy has blown up to the point that experts have had to be brought in to clear the scandal. The lifestyle YouTuber often showed off her designer clothes and products on her social media and gained popularity as an influencer. She was also roped in for Netflix Korea’s first dating show ‘Single’s Inferno’. However, this latest gig backfired as new fans found out that several of the clothes she was wearing were not designer brands but fakes.
Insiders explained that they think Knetizens were angry because FreeZia wore such poor imitation items on an international show because she thought ‘lowly’ of the viewers and thought she wouldn’t be caught by them for wearing fake branded clothes. She was allegedly seen sporting fake Chanel and Dior outfits on ‘Single’s Inferno’. She would also allegedly sport fake items and claim they were real in her designer clothing hauls. Song Jia even apologized multiple times, took down all of her social media posts and shared that she would never again try to pass off fake products as real.

However, ‘Single’s Inferno’ fans are still not forgiving her as some have even tried to target her company and her father. Many claimed that her father was the owner of a ‘sex salon’ to the extent that industry representatives of Busan had to release a statement sharing that Song Jia’s father was not involved in any adult entertainment business. FreeZia was also partially edited out of her TV show gigs after the controversy, while the episode she was in had low TV viewership ratings. To finally end the controversy, Dispatch took every item that Jia has ever worn to the Korea Appraisal Insititute of Luxury Goods.
Fake vs real items
The institute has shared that out of the 500 items Song Jia wore and showed off on her FreeZia platform and the Netflix show, only 20 products are fake designer brands. One of them is the infamous fake Dior bag she posed with while advertising a real Dior perfume. However, she does own real Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Rolex, Dior and more. Sometimes, brands themselves like Dior gave her their clothes for photoshoots. The infamous Chanel classic flap bag that many people thought was a fake because Jia forgot the model name turned out to be real. Even her Louis Vuitton bikini that she wore on Single’s Inferno is authentic.
Unfortunately, many of the items she did wear on the Netflix show 'Single's Inferno' were fake like the iconic Chanel logo pink knit top, the Dior pink tube top and white Van Cleef & Arpels’ necklace and earrings. Even the now obvious Chanel fleece scarf whose logo was off-centre and was one of the first fake items fans noticed on FreeZia's channel was confirmed to be fake.
Song Jia explained, “I should have known better. It’s all my fault. When people started thinking that my items are real luxury goods, I should have stepped up and admitted they were knock-offs. But I didn’t think too much of it.” She also said she knew it was illegal to purchase counterfeit products and was drawn to the fact people couldn’t tell they were fake. She apologized once more and confessed she would reflect on her actions.
'They really bullying Jia'
International fans are upset as they made tweets like, “Wow I feel so bad her, its going way too far now.” Another shared, “Wow they don't let her breath they really bullying jia.” One posted, “Zia needs to file a lawsuit against these people. It’s getting way too much.” Another commented, “So this is clearly not just about the whole clothing situation. They are literally trying to bring her down like she committed a serious crime. I don't get it and I feel sorry sorry for her and her family who have to go though all this.”
