Spoilers for 'Silo' Episode 4, ‘Truth’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Silo’ is making it to the top in no time as Apple TV+’s most popular sci-fi show. 2023 has seen some brilliant content from the streaming platform, but ‘Silo’ has been incredibly impactful. A lot of the credit for this series’ success goes to Rebecca Ferguson who plays the role of Juliette Nichols. Despite getting highlighted only after the second episode, Nichols has made her presence felt in the city of Silo.
In the previous episode, we saw Juliette finally take up the job of Sheriff, despite her misgivings. It strikes her that the only way she will get answers about Silo and the death of her ex-boyfriend, George Wilkins, is if she becomes Sheriff. 'Silo' Episode 4 primarily focuses on her new job, as well as giving viewers a glimpse into her childhood.

Juliette Nichols’ soul-crushing childhood
‘Silo’ has had some very emotional moments so far, considering the fact that this series does not hold back when it comes to killing off characters. First, Allison Becker and Holston Becker stepped out of Silo and were presumed dead, and now, in 'Silo' Episode 4, Mayor Jahns was confirmed dead too. So, there have been some tear-jerkers, and Juliette’s childhood only adds to the somber viewing experience. We see Juliette face the tragic loss of her mother and brother, with her father caring very little about it all. In fact, it is Juliette who has to get rid of her belongings and live a life that she wasn’t destined to.
In the present time, viewers have witnessed just how badass and unbothered Juliette is about most things around her, and this stems from her childhood. A younger Juliette wrote a fake note and headed downstairs to mechanics, where she found solace. All her father asked was “Are you happy?” and the rest is history. 'Silo' Episode 4 gives the viewers a fair idea of why Juliette turned out the way she did, and as heartbreaking as it is, the character growth and arc are impeccable.
Juliette begins her duties as Sheriff!
Although 'Silo' Episode 4 only showcases the start of Juliette’s new role, viewers can gather that she means business. Whether it is calling out subordinates on their bullshit, or breaking up a fight instigated by a grieving Deputy Marnes, she has it all covered. However, her main focus on the job remains George Wilkins, and by the looks of it, Holston Becker has left behind a thing or two to help her get started. Juliette still has a long way to go as the Sheriff of ‘Silo’ and it will be interesting to see how the next set of episodes unfold in regard to her duties, and unraveling the mystery of her boyfriend’s murder.
The first four episodes of ‘Silo’ are available to stream on Apple TV+
