'Shark Tank': Sarah Moret wins $300K offer from 2 sharks for aluminum-free deodrant brand Curie
These days everyone wants to have perfect beauty products that are free from aluminum, parabens and phthalates with an ideal combination of unique scents. So the founder of 'Curie', Sarah Moret, has bought this product to 'Shark Tank' hoping that the judges will like her pitch enough to offer her a deal.
On the recent episode of Season 13 of 'Shark Tank', Sarah, a budding entrepreneur from Los Angeles, California, pitched in with the idea of all-natural personal care product line made for both men and women. Sarah's brand Curie is trendy and known for its all-natural, aluminum-free deodorant sticks that are available in three scents, namely white tea, Orange Neroli and Grapefruit. The brand also makes deodorant spray and hydrating hand sanitizer, among other body and skincare products. Moreover, Sarah had high hopes since she was going to pitch her product to Barbara Corcoran, the New York City real estate maven who invested in Piper Wai, the super absorbent all-natural deodorant.

It was interesting that Barbara thought that Sarah, with her brand and product, is a conflict of interest. Sarah wanted $300,000 for 5%. While talking about her income and sales, she explained that she made $125K in sales in 2019 while being bootstrapped and working on it part-time. After that, she made $700K in sales in the year 2020. After hearing valuation, Kevin O'Leary immediately said he had no value to add and backed out. Daymond made an offer for her of $300K for 12%, and following that, Mark Cuban and Barbara swooped in with a proposal for $300K for 14%. At last, they made a final deal of 10% equity with 4% advisory shares.
A fan bought the deodorant after watching the show and said, "I just bought deodorant because of #sharktank. The only thing I’ve purchased where I can say, shark tank made me buy it." Another fan says,"They played ol girl on Shark Tank right now. Got me looking at her website now."
