With plenty of options in the market, people are now more aware than ever about what they put in and on their bodies. With the beauty industry exploding in recent years, consumers are now more conscious than ever, opting for brands that maintain ethical practices and focus on ingredients that are good for them and the environment. However, a few products get brushed under the rug when it comes to receiving the treatment, and unfortunately, deodorant is one of them. So if you've been on the hunt for a deodorant that does the job but isn't packed with aluminum, then Curie is what you need!

Now, the question is, will Curie be able to impress Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O'Leary, Lori Greiner, and Daymond John?

What is Curie?

Curie is a brand that focuses on creating clean products without harsh and harmful chemicals. Curie maintains a standard of 'Curie Clean' which means that they focus on ingredients that do not harm your body or the environment.

As per the website, Curie's no-no list includes:
"No endocrine-disrupting ingredients
No petroleum-derived ingredients
No aluminum
No parabens
No animal-derived ingredients
No cancer-causing ingredients
No animal testing
No ingredients on Credo's Dirty List™"

Who is the founder?

Sarah Moret is the Founder and CEO of Curie. As per her LinkedIn, she was also the Head of Strategy at Ukko and an Investment Associate at Crosscut Ventures. She also attended Questrom School of Business, Boston University, and has a BSBA, Business Administration degree.

Curie was born when Moret realized that there were no clean body care products to cater to her needs. "I started Curie because I was frustrated with natural products that didn't work as well as the chemical-filled stuff. I loved the idea of natural deodorant but didn't love the results (read: I smelled, bad). We launched our clean, aluminum-free deodorant in 2018, and quickly grew a cult following because it ACTUALLY works. What started as a fun side hustle quickly blossomed into a full-blown business, now with a talented team of four and three product lines—aluminum-free deodorant, all-over deodorant spray, and hydrating hand sanitizer," she explained.

What is the cost and where to buy?

Curie's most notable product, the deodorant stick, retails for $12 and can be purchased on the brand's website or in stores. Available in three scents, the deodorant stick is free of aluminum, parabens, or phthalates and is made of sage oil, triethyl citrate, and baking soda. It also boasts of "smooth, moisturizing, non-greasy application and staying power that'll make the casual armpit sniff a thing of the past."

The product has been a hit among customers, with one of them writing, "I have always struggled with deodorant. I thought it was an allergy to aluminum and I tried all the "deodorant but not antiperspirant" options at the health food store and all of them raised big red welts too. Then Secret came out with an aluminum-free option. Nope. Same thing. So when I moved to Florida, where everyone sweats, I tried Curie and it works perfectly. My favorite scents are the orange neroli and the white tea."

Another customer wrote, "Nothing but high praises for this deodorant. Like many, I've been through quite a few natural/clean brands searching for the deo for me. It needed to smell refined, go on smoothly, not irritate and just WORK; and this ticks all the boxes. I'm noticeably drier too, which is like WOW. I honestly didn't think when I clicked that Ad on Instagram, that I'd soon find the "one". But she's here and I think we'll be together forever. Try the Orange Neroli -- I'm a fan on orange blossom so it's blissful, for me. Though, the White Tea is pretty fire. Basically, it doesn't matter. Just buy it!"

Where is Curie now?

Curie has been making waves so far, seeing that the brand is available at Nordstrom, Blooming Dales, and Anthropologie. The brand has also been featured in The New York Times, Glamour, and Shape.

Who will steal the deal?

Seeing that the brand is already in stores and has a growing platform, there is a good chance that Lori Greiner might take the bait as she can help them expand with her marketing expertise and take the brand even further.
