Having a close mother-daughter relationship makes for a beautiful bond. It's knowing that you always have someone in your corner, who loves and supports you unconditionally. But it's just as important to be independent and grow into your own person. For the cast of 'sMothered', however, it looks like these mother-daughter duos didn't get the memo.
As per TLC -- "This season welcomes back four fan-favorite mother-daughter duos and introduces three new pairings. From bathwater to bedrooms to boyfriends, these twosomes have shared everything and with beautiful babies being welcomed into the mix, a new legacy ensues - grand-smothering!"

'sMothered' has definitely had its fair share of questionable moments over the years -- from Kyla and Rykia's sex talks to Sunhe crashing her daughter Angelica's dates and more, the show has both, intrigued and confused fans. Now, entering its fourth season, it looks like a few new faces are joining the cast, as these mother-daughter duos are all ready to show the world just how much they love each other. Among them are Shay and Angie, the first mother and trans-daughter who are a part of the upcoming season.

Who are Shay and Angie?

Joining the cast this season are Shay and Angie. The mother-daughter duo grew closer when Shay came out as transgender. It brought the pair closer together, however, Angie's involvement in her journey has certainly put a strain on their relationship, seeing that Angie has been trying hard to push Shay along her weight loss journey. This has certainly caused friction between them, leading to Shay telling her mother that she is "not a project".

As per their TLC bio -- "Shay and Angie have always been inseparable. Their bond grew even stronger after daughter Shay came out as transgender. Now, supportive mama Angie is fully invested in Shay's journey to womanhood. However, Angie isn't afraid to stick her nose in Shay's personal business and when Shay dedicates herself to a transformational weight loss plan, Angie takes control. Will Shay thrive and achieve her new goals or will Angie's involvement prove to be too much?"

What do you think? Will Angie's controlling ways prove to be an issue when it comes to Shay? Or will she be able to tone it down and let Shay be her own person? Sound off in the comments below and tell us what you think is likely to happen.

'sMothered' Season 4 returns to TLC on Monday, August 8 at 9PM ET/PT
