Everyone gave their best to bring out their additions, however, Dave and Jenny stole the show. In addition, the couple also used the extra pantry in an outstanding manner that added to their points for winning the round. Dave and Jenny also removed the powder room, thinking of increasing the space and bringing some ancient pieces to decorate the space. Their idea turned out to be successful as the judges considered it a unique renovation concept. Each week the prize of the winning couple will increase by $1000, which will surely increase their budget and chances to win the finale.
Fans were not satisfied with the results, they thought Mike and Egypt's idea of the renovation was better than Dave and Jenny's. As soon as the episode ended, fans started coming up with their thoughts and opinion over the winning of Dave and Jenny. Few fans were happy, and few found that the decision was unfair. A fan tweeted, "If Egypt & her husband rotated the island & added a hidden pantry door they would have won that room. #RockTheBlock." Another fan tweeted,"Mike and Egypt and Dave and Jenny were my top two but I liked Mike and Egypt’s a little better. #rocktheblock@hgtv." Another fan said,"#RockTheBlock It was VERY close between @EgyptSaidSo/@DJFADELF and Jenny/ @DaveMarrs. I think the removal of the powder rm was the main factor. They are putting it back so they'll make up. I LOVED the extra pantry, personally." Another fan tweeted,"FYI Jenny and Daves NKOTB surprise in the hidden pantry space in no way swayed our vote. I truly loved that space. #Rocktheblock."
