Porsha Williams calls her wedding to Simon Guobadia 'a true fashion extravaganza' as 'RHOA' alum changes outfits thrice

On November 25, the 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' alum and the Nigerian-born entrepreneur married in front of 250 guests at the Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta in a Nigerian traditional native law and custom wedding. According to People, the couple will tie the knot in an American ceremony in front of 350 guests on Saturday evening. The publication also reported that Simon, who is from Benin City in Nigeria's Edo State, and Porsha had native Benin singers and dancers perform during the wedding. Porsha, who marked the day as "a true fashion extravaganza," changed her clothes three times.

She donned an okuku, a headdress with Benin coral beads, and an over-the-top, deep red, princess-style wedding gown with feathers and gold decorations by designer Lakimmy for the ceremony. It was the same outfit that the reality star mistakenly revealed to over 2,000 of her Instagram followers earlier this month while live-streaming. She changed into two separate dresses by designer Tabik for the reception: one in royal blue and one in gold. The couple's 250 guests, which included numerous Bravolebrities, dressed in traditional or formal Nigerian-inspired purple and teal outfits.
The couple contributed the cultural fabric that was used to create the day's clothes for their family members in accordance with custom. Each family member has their own design options for the cloth. "It was a huge undertaking," Porsha admitted. "I personally chose the fabrics that they're going to be wearing, including their head wrap, their gele. I chose all of the colors, everything. I should be a stylist after this!"
"It's going to be interesting to see people's take on the fabric," she continued. "It's going to be a beautiful expression of fashion, love, and family." Porsha said she wanted guests to feel as if they had "taken a flight and landed in Benin" for the reception, which was decked in "beautiful colors of browns and rose golds and tans and creams."
"The other thing I wanted was trees in the room," she explained. "I want[ed] it to feel like an inside/outside space, but luxurious," says the author. Simon and Porsha also requested that their guests not use electronic devices, since they "want[ed] people to be in the moment."
Though the author of 'Pursuit of Porsha' was "adamant" that the event commemorate the businessman's background, she made certain that the menu featured southern classics like "fried lobster, steak and cornbread." The church ceremony on Saturday will be followed by a ball and after-party, and fellow 'RHOA' alumni/stars Monyetta Shaw, Drew Sidora, Cynthia Bailey, Kim Zolciak-Biermann, and Kandi Burruss are expected to attend. Also invited are TI and his wife, Tiny Harris.
"It’s our last marriage, OK? We belong together. That is it," Porsha told the tabloid. Porsha was formerly married to Kordell Stewart and engaged to Dennis McKinley. "It’s a blessing to be able to find your person. It doesn’t happen often."
After a month of dating, the newlyweds got engaged in May 2021. They met on 'RHOA' Season 13 while Simon was married to cast "friend" Falynn Pina. The ex-couple married in June 2019 and divorced in April 2021, the same month Porsha and Simon began dating. Soon later, the 'Porsha's Family Matters' star clarified the timeline of her relationship. A month later, Simon proposed to Porsha with a magnificent emerald-cut ring — and he has the blessing of her ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley, the father of her kid.
According to official records acquired by TMZ, the 'RHOA' alum and her fiancé secured a marriage license on August 19 in Georgia's Fulton County.
