What a way to start the weekend for P Nation’s ‘Gentleman’ CEO Psy and his newest bestie, Suga of BTS. When the hitmaker Psy announced that the title track ‘That That’ from his new album ‘Cheap 9’ will be produced by BTS’ Suga who goes by the pseudonym Agust D, fans were not sure what to expect. It was recently revealed that Psy himself does not seek success on charts and numbers do not mean much to him but he wanted the song ‘That That’ to do well all because of the dedication and work put in by the BTS rapper and producer.

ARMYs believe that what Min Yoongi (Suga) wants, he gets. So even though the rapper did not explicitly ask fans to make his collab with Psy a hit, they are more than eager to make the song dominate charts. Psy’s ninth full-length album was released as promised on April 29 and it has now been reported that the album is a huge success, exceeding Psy’s wildest expectations. The lead single, ‘That That’ (prod. & feat. Suga of BTS) as well as all other songs on Psy’s ‘Cheap 9’ are doing exceptionally well on charts.

Psy’s ‘That That’ tops multiple charts

The single ‘That That’, produced by and featuring Suga of BTS, released on Friday at 6 pm KST (5 am ET), and soon after its release, it was reported that the song has topped local iTunes Charts. The single ranked at Number 1 on iTunes Top Song Chart in a total of 70 countries including the USA, Japan, and Canada. The overall album from Psy, ‘Cheap 9’ topped the iTunes Top Album charts in countries like Indonesia, Singapore, and Taiwan, while also doing well on many other Apple Music charts globally.

‘That That’ is especially doing wonders on domestic charts in South Korea. The lead single from Psy’s ‘Cheap 9’ ranks Number 1 on all real-time charts of major domestic music sites including Genie, Flo, Vibe, and Bugs, and was seen charting high on the Melon Top 100. Not just the lead single but the remaining 11 songs from Psy’s first comeback album in five years have all taken high-ranking spots on charts like Bugs and Genie, proving the album is a success, not just the title track.

Meanwhile, the video for ‘That That’ from Psy which features BTS Suga has already surpassed 28 million views in under 24 hours since its release.

‘Suga and Psy are legends’

Fans are loving the synergy between Psy and Suga and how Psy has also referenced his other 'personas' from the 'Gentleman' and 'Gangnam Style' eras. Suga too has worn multiple hats for the song — rapping, singing, dancing and, of course, producing the song with an infectious call-and-answer pattern that is also reflected in the music video for ‘That That’. One fan plainly stated a lyric from the song saying, “I like that.” Another fan said, “LFGOOOOOOO THIS JUST THE BEGINNING BABE that comeback is gonna break everything.”

One fan complimented Suga saying, “I am so proud of him. He's amazing he worked so hard on this song from producing, writing, singing,  dancing altogether with his superb presence he made this song best one.. love the song and love you suga.” One fan said, “Yep its going up and up, Suga and Psy are legends.”
