'Celeb': PSY to release old Suzy and Zico collab, fans say: ‘Finally out of the basement'

PSY's ninth album has a star-studded tracklist, featuring Bae Suzy, Block B's Zico, Mamamoo’s Hwasa, Epik High’s Tablo, Crush, and more

With ‘Gangnam Style’ pretty much taking over the globe and introducing many to the world of K-pop, fans, and non-fans wondered how PSY would top the viral 2012 hit. But the K-pop soloist is not worried as his ninth album is already iconic even before its release. ‘PSY 9th’ is pretty star-studded as he has roped in artists like Block B’s Zico, Bae Suzy, Mamamoo’s Hwasa, Epik High’s Tablo, and others. 

While most K-pop acts pick one or max two songs as the title tracks from their albums to promote, PSY is showing the kids how it’s done. Each track on ‘PSY 9th’ has talented and popular artists featured and many of them will reportedly have music videos. While details about the title track ‘T T’ are still a secret, fans are hyped up for the other tracks. And now PSY has dropped a music video teaser for the b-side ‘Celeb’ which features Zico and idol actor Suzy.

PSY ropes in Suzy and Zico

Even before fans could get over their excitement of Hwasa working with PSY, hours later, he announced his track titled ‘Celeb’. Both Zico and PSY have worked on the lyrics and the making of the song along with Yoo Gun-hyung. As for the music video, many were surprised when they spotted none other than Suzy in the teaser. Before JYPE had TWICE and Itzy, miss A was one of the biggest girl groups in K-pop. Suzy was one of the most popular members of the group and who then later turned to act in K-dramas. While she has dropped a couple of ballads and R&B songs recently, it has been a while since fans saw idol Suzy dancing and performing. 

The music video teaser of ‘Celeb’ is colorful, full of campy props and animation, just as expected from PSY. He and Suzy are then seeing dancing and having fun in vibrant pink outfits while the hook of ‘Celeb’ plays in the back. Fans are even more hyped for the track since ‘Celeb’ was actually made in 2019. The music video was shown to an audience and PSY and Suzy had danced to it during his 2019 concert ‘Summer Swag’. However, only low-quality clips of the music video and the performance had been making the rounds on the internet back then.

‘Another hit’

Excited fans made tweets like, “It's finally out of the basement :').” Another fan cheered, “Psy will makes another hit this year.” One was hyped up, “I'm dead, CELEB, a song that involves Zico and Suzy, simply my UTTS.”

Another said, “OMG FIRST HWASA AND NOW SUZY ?!?!? MY QUEENSSS💚💚❤❤ THIS IS GONNA BE ICONIC OMG.” One fan added, “I can hear zico's voice Is it because I miss him?? Anyway lyricist zico composer zico here we go.”
