Everybody's favorite designing show aka 'Project Runway' is back with an all-new Season 19. You know what that means, watching sixteen exceptionally talented designers creating various outfits from scratch in order to win the coveted $250,000 prize money waiting for the winner. But before they get their hands on this huge wad of cash, the designers will have to jump through a few hoops such as eliminations, acing challenges and impressing the judges.

The season's judges- Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth are more than excited to finally get back into the game and watch some high fashion on the runway after the pandemic relegated them all into isolation and social distancing. The showrunners wasted no time in immediately kicking off the season premiere episode at the iconic Lincoln Center takes center stage. The sixteen designers were tasked with the challenge of creating outfits within two days for the theme of colors. The designers were split into two teams- warm team and cool team, and each designer had to create an outfit to form a cohesive collection alongside their team members celebrating the theme of bold colors!

Needless to say, the designers immediately began scrambling around trying to come up with a concept for their collection and an element that would tie together all of their outfits into a collection. The warm team came up with the concept of designing outfits for a group of ladies who were out and about in New York enjoying a leisurely day and later attending the MET Gala. The designers brought in their A-game and were determined to impress the judges and form a striking first impression. Although all the designers were struggling with the extremely pressing deadline looming over them, warm team member Darren Apolonio seemed to have a particularly hard time. He picked a gold sequinned fabric for his outfit and initially wanted to create a skirt. But when the designers' mentor Christian Siriano had a look at Brandon's initial design he expressed that he was most worried about Darren's outfit and suggested he make some changes to it.

Darren immediately took Christian's feedback into consideration and scrapped the entire skirt design, but was still struggling to come up with a replacement outfit. As the deadline was looming over them, Darren couldn't handle the stress and stepped away for a smoke break. His fellow team member- Bones Jones stepped in and took over Darren's design. He decided to create a stunning dress with the sequin fabric and created a whole outfit within the last 30 minutes and saved Darren. When it was finally time for the designers to present their creations, the judges watched all of them and were surprisingly bowled over by Darren's design.

They declared it as one of the best outfits of the evening and couldn't stop showering praises upon the dress. They also loved Bones' own design and Octavio Aguilar's design, thus declaring the warm team as the winner. But Darren came clean and revealed that Bones created his entire outfit. Although the judges were surprised they didn't say anything to Darren. Since the cool team lost the challenge one of their designers was to be eliminated, and the judges picked Caycee Black as the first designer of the season to be sent home.

Fans weren't pleased with the judges' decision of sending Caycee home as she created her own design, unlike Darren whose design was created by somebody else. A fan tweeted, "Don't send any of them home after the winning team had someone who didn't even make anything #ProjectRunway." Another fan wrote, "Send home Darren. #ProjectRunway." "Darren is lucky his team pulled through because a designer who didn’t put his own garment on the runway should go home #ProjectRunway," expressed a fan.

"The dude who did not make his own dress should have gone home, not Caycee #ProjectRunway," declared a fan. Another fan pointed out, "Caycee’s look was terrible but at least she put something on the runway. Total bullsh*t. Darren didn’t even sew a hem on that dress. He was outside chain smoking while Bones did all the work. #ProjectRunway." "Someone else going home before Darren doesn’t sit right with my spirit at least they completed their pieces with no one else’s help. #ProjectRunway," expressed a fan.
