Paris Hilton calls out uncle Mauricio Umansky for defaming father Rick Hilton 'to plug his lame show' 'Buying Beverly Hills'
BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: Paris Hilton is sticking up for her father. The socialite rushed to Instagram on March 12 to chastise her uncle Mauricio Umansky for bringing up her father, Rick Hilton, and their prior spat in a forthcoming episode of 'Buying Beverly Hills', a preview for which was released earlier that day.
"My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family-especially in the press," she remarked under the above-mentioned footage, which was posted on the Queens of Bravo Instagram account.
“Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already.”
In the following 'BBH' episode, Mauricio discusses his breakup with the Hilton family after leaving their Hilton & Hyland real estate office in Los Angeles over a decade ago.
What happened between Mauricio Umansky and Rick Hilton?
Mauricio has now revealed what caused his falling out with brother-in-law Rick and the Hilton family dispute.
"I think I got kind of f–ked by Hilton and Hyland," Mauricio stated in a trailer for season 2 of Netflix's 'BBH' released on Tuesday, March 12.
“And when I say f–ked, you know like today, I’m happy. But, there were 100 agents at Hilton and Hyland. They did $1 billion for the first time a year. I was 19.6 percent of their production.”
Mauricio claimed that he approached Kathy Hilton's husband, Rick, and expressed his desire to "really like equity" and become a full partner in the real estate business. Following their chat, Mauricio revealed that he was "basically" told, "No."
He remembers discussing his concerns with Kyle about how his choice to depart might affect her family.
“Then I went home and I talked to Kyle. I go, ‘This is really going to cause a lot of stress between you and your sister and your family. And I don’t want to do this move of leaving and starting a company if you’re not comfortable,’” he said.
“She was 100 percent supportive.”
He added, “And then I remember they said to me, ‘How did you not give us any warning or any issue?’ And I was like, ‘Warning?’”
After leaving Hilton and Hyland, Mauricio founded his own brokerage, The Agency, which is currently the topic of 'BBH'.
When did Mauricio Umansky start The Agency?
Before founding The Agency in 2011, Mauricio was one of the country's top realtors. When he worked for his brother-in-law Rick's business, Hilton & Hyland, he was ranked third in the United States and first in California by The Wall Street Journal.
Mauricio's mission since founding the Los Angeles-based business in 2011 has been to revolutionize the real estate experience via culture, cooperation, and innovation. The company's second pillar was to reinvent the industry through marketing.
Mauricio Umansky overheard talking about 'moving out of the house' during boys’ trip in Aspen
Mauricio was overheard indicating he and Kyle Richards were "not together" during a men' trip to Aspen, Colorado, last week. According to an eyewitness reporting to Page Six, Mauricio was having a happy hour talk with a woman at Kemo Sabe, a western dress boutique turned celebrity hotspot, when he revealed the status of his marriage.
"We're not together," Mauricio was heard saying to the woman, alluding to the 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' lady.
The 'BBH' star was also caught discussing "moving out of the house" he and Kyle share in Encino, California, and the significance of their children in the process.
