The recent episode of 'Next Level Chef' saw a groundbreaking challenge to scrape through to the semifinals. Each contestant had to create a dish with notes of gold and silver. Yes, you read that right.

Guided by chefs Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington, and Richard Blais, who among the six contestants will make it to the semifinals? In a nerve-racking 40-minute frenzy to win themselves a spot in the semis, only three will qualify. Mariah and Angie head towards the top kitchen, with Pyet and Courtney in the middle. The men, Kenny and Reuel have to create their masterpiece in the basement.

'Next Level Chef' Episode 8: It's every man for himself as the chefs wrestle with meat

Reuel decides to cook a halibut. The man's a perfectionist and is on the show to honor his dad. Albeit the protein was slightly overcooked and he couldn't pick a plate to present his food in, Reuel was highly praised for the taste of his dish.

Pyet creates a magical butter-poached lobster and almost effortlessly glides to her spot as one of the semifinalists. She was pretty adamant to step outside of her comfort zone, and obviously, she delivered!

Mariah too pushed herself to be her extra fancy self with a grilled, smoky lamb, with finger limes. Her star dish coupled with the exquisite plating skills won her a spot at the semis, along with Pyet.

That leaves us with Kenny, Reuel, Courtney, and Angie, who are presented with yet another "golden" chance to fight for the third and final spot. How badly do they want to make it?

For the golden challenge, the four contestants are to add a tinge of gold onto their potential restaurant-worthy, Michelin star dish. How does one incorporate that?

With all four dishes coming to a close tie in terms of details, Reuel's salmon stood out and won the blind taste test. It was visibly obvious that he left no stones unturned, gave his all to both cooking the fish right and presenting it like it cost half a million bucks!

Who among Pyet, Reuel, and Mariah will be the next level chef? Stay tuned to find out!

The finals of 'Next Level Chef' will air on Wednesday, at 9 pm ET, only on FOX.
