Amazon Prime Video's 'Mr and Mrs Smith' is basking on the love and adulation from both the internet and critics

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The latest series, 'Mr and Mrs Smith', on Amazon Prime Video, is gaining a lot of love and appreciation owing to its humorous tone and the impressive performances of its main cast.

The eight-part series, created by Francesca Sloane and Donald Glover, centers on two spies, Jane Smith (Maya Erskine) and John Smith (Donald Glover), investigating a high-profile case by posing as a married couple.

The decision to turn a beloved movie into a television series was unprecedented, and when it was first announced, the internet was understandably outraged. Fortunately, the risk paid off, as fans are praising the revival series.

The enigmatic and endearing atmosphere of the series is being praised by viewers, as one X user commented, "Watching Mr & Mrs Smith (2024 show) and I LOVE IT ALREADY... I'm only on episode 2 and I just love the mysterious and charming feeling. The last time I got the tingles was watching Lupin (French show)."

One flirtatious tweet from an X user complimented Donald Glover's acting skills, saying, "Watching the new mr & mrs smith I love u Donald glover be my contractually obliged spy husband."

Viewers are also raving about the quality of the series, along with the main leads' infectious chemistry. An X user expressed his opinion about the same and wrote, "On the 3rd ep of Mr & Mrs Smith and it’s so good, the script , the acting , the action, the comedy, the romance and the CHEMISTRY is perfect."

Will there be a second season of 'Mr and Mrs Smith?'

As the series has just been released, it is too soon to comment on its renewal status. However, there is still hope, as the series' co-creator, Francesca Sloane, has hinted at a second season.

Sloane told Entertainment Weekly, "I think there's definitely a lot more story to tell here." However, it should be noted that neither Amazon Prime Video nor the producers have provided an official statement regarding the series' future.
