Host Jimmy Kimmel mocks Will Smith’s Oscars Slap

Jimmy Kimmel roasts Will Smith in his opening monologue at the 95th Academy Awards. “Give me a second, I’ll adjust my danger zone here,” was Jimmy Kimmel’s first line. After a riff about diversity, Kimmel added: “Five Irish actors are nominated tonight, which means the chances of another fight on stage went way up.” Heating to the theme, he promised the audience: “We want you to have fun, we want you to be safe, and most importantly, we want me to be safe. If anyone commits an act of violence anytime during this show, you will be presented the Oscar for Best Actor and be permitted to give an 19-minute long speech.” Kimmel added that the Oscars now has a crisis management team, and wondered what they might do in the event of violence, suggesting: “Just do what you did last year – nothing. Sit there and do absolutely nothing. Maybe even give the assailant a hug.” He finished by saying that if someone felt tempted to get onstage and slap him, they would have the celebrity audience to contend with. “You’re going to have to get through the heavyweight champ, Adonis Creed, you’re going to have to battle with Michelle Yeoh before you get to me … you’re going to have to tangle with Spider-Man, you’re going to have to tangle with Fabelman, and then you’re going to have to go through my right-hand man Guillermo if you want to get up to this stage.”

Elizabeth Banks has no voice and tripped up

Elizabeth Banks had a special guest beside her when she presented the award for best visual effects to 'Avatar: The Way of Water'. The 'Cocaine Bear' filmmaker was joined by a person in a bear costume, noting that if it weren’t for visual effects teams, the bear in her film would’ve looked like the one standing beside her. However, the actor had lost her voice and tripped because of her bear companion on stage.

Lady Gaga incredibly emotional during performance

After recent conjectures which suggested Lady Gaga won't be performing at the Oscars, Gaga stunned everyone. Lady Gaga decided to go back to the basics with her style for a stripped-back performance of 'Hold My Hand' at the 2023 Oscars. "It's deeply personal for me," she began. "I think that we all need each other. We need a lot of love to walk through this life. We all need a hero sometimes - there's heroes all around us in unassuming places. But, you might find that you could be your own hero even if you feel broken inside."

Angela Bassett losing out on Best Supporting Actor (Female)

Jordan and Jonathan Majors showed support for actress Angela Bassett after she lost out to Jamie Lee Curtis in the best supporting actress category at the 95th Academy Awards on Sunday night.
