Fans unhappy as Jamie Lee Curtis receives Oscar for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jamie Lee Curtis just secured her first Oscar at the 95th Academy Awards for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’. However, fans are not very happy with the 64-year-old winning the award, as they feel the actress had very less screen time in compare Stephanie Hsu, who was also nominated under the same category. Regardless, this is a career milestone for Curtis as the actress's debut film was in John Carpenter's 1978 horror film 'Halloween,' in which she played the role of Laurie Strode. It also got her the title of a scream queen. Until last year, she was also successful outside of horror in films like 'Knives Out' (2019), 'True Lies' (1994), 'A Fish Called Wanda' (1988), and 'Trading Places' (1983). Apart from Curtis, Ke Huy Quan also won the Oscars for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’.

Jamie Lee Curtis secures her first Oscar
"I know it looks like I am standing up here by myself, but I am not. I am hundreds of people," the 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' star said. "My bae Michelle (Yeoh), Ke (Huy Quan), Stephanie (Hsu) – the entire group of artists who made this movie – we just won an Oscar." The 64-year-old actress went on to thank her family – "my beautiful husband Christopher Guest, our daughters Annie and Ruby" – as well as the moviegoers who have supported her throughout her decades-long career. "To all of the people who have supported the genre movies that I have made for all of these years, the thousands and hundreds of thousands of people, we just won an Oscar together," Curtis continued. "My mother and my father were both nominated for Oscars in different categories," a teary-eyed Curtis said as she looked upward. "I just won an Oscar."

'Historically bad choice'
Fans however are not happy with this decision. A fan said, "I'm disappointed that Angela Bassett didn't win. If Angela didn't get it, at least give it to Stephanie Hsu!" A fan shared, "This is thievery. Stephanie Hsu deserved this," while another adds, "Historically bad choice." A fan wrote, "She was barely in the movie & Stephanie Hsu had a better performance. Either way, Angela Bassett should have won. Way to blow it again."
