It looks like trolls and haters don’t hesitate even when they cyberbully a young K-pop idol. Previously, 16-year-old Jiwoo from NMIXX and 19-year-old Chaehyun from Kep1er were fat-shamed for not being a size zero. And now antis are openly sending hate to Loona’s youngest member Yeojin who has decided to take a break because of it.

FAB is one of the latest virtual platforms for K-pop idols to interact with fans and vice versa. Like Bubble or UNIVERSE, it is a paid platform so that only dedicated fans can be close to their favorite idols. However, that has not stopped mischievous trolls who find ways to cyberbully idols. In fact, they went as far as to spam Yeojin’s chat section while she was online and chatting with Orbits (Loona’s fans) on the FAB app.

Yeojin is sent hate

On March 21, Yeojin was chatting with fans when she decided to address the hate comments. The Loona member apologized to fans but said that she had to ask the trolls to stop since she was distressed by the hate comments. She continued to apologize, “I know I can’t be liked by everyone…but I hope you refrain from sending heavy words like ‘leave [the group]’...If my actions upset you I’m really sorry! I’ll be more careful!” Orbits were indignant that Yeojin had to apologize while she was the one being targeted by the haters.

However, the cyberbullying did not stop as one anti took Yeojin’s story about her school friend and gossiped about it on another anonymous website. She has decided that she will not talk about her friends anymore as it will cause more misunderstandings. A couple of hours later after the hate comments continued, Yeojin stated that she will not be coming on the FAB app for a while.

The Loona star said, “I’d like to stop seeing negative words but there’s someone who keeps leaving comments so I won’t be coming here for a bit…please understand a little bit! I’ll return soon!” Orbits were upset and messaged FAB to take some action to which they tweeted that they will read all the comments and make improvements. Members Yves and Gowon shared that they were visiting Yeojin and that fans shouldn’t worry.

‘We love you Yeojin’

Fans too have taken to social media to send supportive messages to Yeojin. One Orbit tweeted, “We love you yeojin.” Another user commented, “This is so upsetting to read and I feel so sorry for Yeojin. I can't believe people send hate, let alone pay to send it.” One Loona fan posted, “Me looking for whoever was bullying yeojin so we can have a talk....” Another Orbit shared, “Yeojin is LOONA's ace and pride. yeojin is THE IT GIRL. yeojin is the most talented, the most beautiful, and the kindest girl in this world and i'm going to tell you all that she is NOT going out anywhere soon.”

One was worried about FAB’s features, “This is upsetting, poor Yeojin. It's meant to be a "private" messaging app for Orbits but since you get free points if you make a new account it's easy for trolls to also send messages. Also we can't discount the possibility of "Orbits" sending hateful messages either…” Another fan said, “Seeing yeojin say that in response to such nasty hate is just heartbreaking she's still so positive and even being willing to hear haters out like.. and seeing her apologise when she didn't even do anything.. girl you r so strong and i am so sorry people are b**chless freaks!”
