LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Twilight Saga' was a revolution of love, vampires, and werewolves. The movies based on the Stephanie Meyers book series of the same name became a fan favorite. It had all the drama with bloodthirsty and cold-hearted vampires. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner were the lead stars of the movies.

The story of Bella and Edward is returning as the TV series 'Twilight' is in early development at Lionsgate. This announcement comes after the recent reports of Warner Bros Discovery turning 'Harry Potter' books by JK Rowling into TV series. Meyers, the creator of the 'Twilight Saga' is expected to be involved in its television adaptation.

Stephenie Meyer’s book series coming back to life

Stephenie Meyer is a renowned American novelist who wrote the vampire romance drama 'Twilight'. Her books were then adapted into a film, and fans instantly fell in love with the movies. To their surprise, Meyer’s book series coming back to life, as the TV series is in the preliminary stage at Lionsgate Television. Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig, are attached as executive producers for the project. When working at Summit Entertainment, Feig acquired the rights to the Twilight book series after Paramount Pictures passed. The TV adaptation is still in development and does not yet have a network or platform. The studio, which holds the rights to the franchise, intends to take the initiative in project development before putting the package up for sale. The timeline for when the series will come out is also unknown.

The success of 'Twilight Saga'

The 'Twilight Saga' consisted of five films, 'Twilight', 'New Moon', 'Eclipse', and 'Breaking Dawn' Parts 1&2. These films were released between 2008 and 2012. The franchise grossed over $3 billion at the global box office in total. The films starring Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner as the main cast helped them build their career. The movie follows the story of Bella Swan, whose life changes when Edward Cullen, a vampire enters her life. She gets entangled in his mystery and falls in love. Bella, far from being frightened, enters into a dangerous romance with her immortal soulmate.

The 'Twilight' films recently left Netflix and are now available to stream on NBC Universal’s Peacock.
