Robert Pattinson slams Hollywood’s ‘insidious’ male body standards, says he once ate potatoes for 2 weeks
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Robert Pattinson criticized all 'insidious' male body standard that prevails in Hollywood. In an Interview with ES Magazine, The 36-year-old spoke candidly on the pressure Hollywood places on men to maintain a specific aesthetic, despite its negative consequences. The Twilight series actor claimed he hasn't had issues with how he perceives his own body, but he acknowledged that the expectations are still "crazy," adding that it is "very, very easy to fall into that pattern as well."
Talking to ES Magazine, Pattinson said, “Even if you’re just watching your calorie intake, it’s extraordinarily addictive — and you don’t quite realize how insidious it is until it’s too late.” “I once ate nothing but potatoes for two weeks, as a detox. Just boiled potatoes and Himalayan pink salt. Apparently, it’s a cleanse… you definitely lose weight,” Pattinson added. Pattison mentioned some of the other diets he's tried, including the keto diet, and added that one of his objectives for 2023 is to "try consistency."

The 'Batman' actor stated, "I have basically tried every fad you can think of, everything except consistency." "I tried to do keto once. I was like, 'Oh, there's a diet where you just eat charcuterie boards and cheese all the time?' But I didn't realize that you can't have beer as it completely defeats the purpose," he added.
Pattinson was also hesitant to discuss his movie-related workout routine. "It's quite embarrassing when you get into a pattern of answering questions about your workout because there'll always be a guy who's in better shape than you," he said.
In addition, Pattinson discussed 'Mickey 17', which will be released in theaters on March 29, 2024, as Bong Joon Ho's future film. According to him, "The movie is so crazy, it's a completely different style of working," The film will be Bong's first since Parasite which he won an Oscar for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Original Screenplay in 2019. This script is based on Edward Ashton's sci-fi novel Mickey 7, which was released in February 2022. In addition to Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, and Holliday Grainger are the actors who are starring in the sci-fi movie, according to IMDb.
