Looks like Lil Durk has had a change of heart with his plans of releasing his brand new album called ‘7220’. The Chicago native, in the first week of February, had claimed that he will drop his seventh album on the same day as Kanye West’s ‘Donda 2’. However, Lil Durk, on Tuesday, February 22 took to his social media platforms to announce that he was pushing back the release date thus pissing off the Internet.

To compensate, the 29-year-old rap star dropped a single off his album called ‘AHHH HA’ along with stunning visuals on his YouTube channel. Kanye West had first announced that he will drop the sequel to ‘Donda’ on “2/22/22.” Lil Durk’s ‘7220’ will be a follow-up to his sixth studio album ‘The Voice’ that was released in December 2020.  Lil Durk had earlier shared a few drip-worthy pictures with his more than 12 million followers on Instagram. The rapper had captioned the post as, “My album drop 2/22/22 same day as @kanyewest”.

When will Lil Durk release new album?

With an intention to avert the clash with Kanye’s ‘Donda 2’, Lil Durk announced a new date of his album whilst also revealing the cover art on Twitter and Instagram respectively. The ‘Viral Moment’ hitmaker revealed that his fresh studio effort will now hit the leading streaming platforms on March 11. This ensued chaos on the Internet as many furious social media users slammed him for lying to them. Others claimed he pulled off a stunt similar to Kanye referring to the latter delaying his album ‘Donda’ constantly last year.

Speaking of his new single ‘AHHH HA’, Lil Durk in the song raps, “Don't respond to s**t with Von (Yeah, yeah, yeah)/ I'm like, "F**k it, you tripping, go get your gun" (Let's get it, yeah, gun)/ They dropping locations, I'm getting it done (Woo, woo, woo, gang)/ F**k tweeting, we sliding, the feds will come (Yeah, yeah, yeah, man, what?).” The new single reportedly takes a dig at subliminal and explicit disses from his rival YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s crew and affiliates.
