Lil Durk vs Kanye West: Fans say ‘not a good idea’ as rappers' albums to clash in Feb
Two Chicago rap icons are all set to clash in the last week of February 2022 as Lil Durk over the weekend announced that he will be dropping his brand-new album on the same day as that of Kanye West’s ‘Donda 2’. The latter had announced the release date of his sequel to ‘Donda’ in the first week of February. ‘Donda 2’ is all set to be released in February 2022. Lil Durk, who reportedly admires Kanye a lot, has now decided to compete with the Grammy-winning rap star.
The ’Viral Moment’ hitmaker took to his Instagram and Twitter accounts respectively to make the big news while also sharing a few new pictures. Social media users got elated with the news but Lil Durk ended up getting trolled as many music lovers claimed that they will only be listening to Kanye West. Others joked that there was no point in clashing with Kanye West’s ‘Donda 2’ since he is again going to delay it as he did it with the album ‘Donda’.

Lil Durk willing to clash with Kanye West with new album
Breaking the Internet with his latest announcement, Lil Durk shared a few drip-worthy pictures with his more than 12 million followers on Instagram. He captioned the post as, “My album drop 2/22/22 same day as @kanyewest”. The 29-year-old rapper shared the same caption on Twitter which quickly led to a meme-fest. For the unversed, Lil Durk had also paid a tribute to Kanye West with his song ‘Kanye Krazy’ in January 2021.
Interestingly, Lil Durk was supposed to be part of Kanye's ‘Donda’ but he failed to be a part of the project after he missed the jet. This is not the first time rappers have tried to go against Kanye with their album releases. In 2007, 50 Cent pulled off the same stunt with ‘Curtis’ as he locked horns with Kanye’s ‘Graduation’. The same happened when J Cole and late rapper Mac Miller dropped their respective albums ‘Born Sinner’, and ‘Watching Movies With The Sound Off’ against Kanye’s ‘Yeezus’ in June 2013. All of them failed to gain momentum as Kanye's projects performed exceptionally well every time.
‘Kanye not dropping bro you're good’
Music lovers did not waste any time clowning Lil Durk over his latest announcement. “You don't ever want a no.1 album lmfaoo”, said one user as another chimed in, “Well we're listening to Kanye AND KANYE ONLY!!” The next one added, “That’s not a good idea bro, YE gonna make u flop.” While, another claimed, “Kanye not dropping”. The next one said, “Can you imagine if Lil Durk outsell Kanye West first week sales ? I’m not saying it will happen though.” Whereas, another added, “Kanye not dropping bro you're good.” Echoing similar sentiments, one concluded, “Kanye ain’t even gonna drop like always.”
