'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 2: Alaric's beard and new vampire Sebastian a hit with fans unlike Jandon and Professor Vardemus

Hope and by extension, the viewers, had some heartbreaking moments in this week's episode as she dealt with a world that does not remember her.

In this week's episode of 'Legacies', Hope hunts a monster with Alaric, Josie's and Landon's relationship takes a turn for the awkward, and four new characters are introduced. The second episode sets the tone for what is to come for the season and fans are excited about the implications of the events in the episode.

Hope is now in a world that does not remember her and this week we see her struggle more with that. Twice, she breaks down in tears, after interacting with both Alaric and Landon. At the end of the episode, she tells Alaric who she really is, adding that he is "the closest thing to a father that I have". If viewers weren't already bawling their eyes out by now, this scene ensured that they did. One user tweeted, "Hope, sweetheart, pack your bags. Come on, I'm taking you back to New Orleans. Away from all the drama and heartbreaks. #Legacies [sic]". But there are fans who love the emotional scenes; another viewer wrote, "I get headaches every Thursday now because these #Handon scenes be making me cry and I'm okay with it. #Legacies [sic]." Meanwhile, fans love Alaric's facial hair growth and his style as the principal of Mystic Falls High School, with one fan saying, "keeps the beard or we riot."

Fans are also loving the new character, Sebastian, and they feel he is more reminiscent of Elijah Mikaelson than Damon Salvatore. One fan tweeted, "Sebastian is giving me Elijah vibes and he is my fav in #TheOriginals but I still want to see more of him to make a complete opinion #Legacies." Fans are however sad on behalf of MG, whose heart has been broken yet again by Lizzie as she falls for Sebastian. Fans are also liking Maya, with many wanting more scenes between her and Hope -- and perhaps even a relationship.

Of the new characters, fans are most suspicious of Professor Vardemus, the new Headmaster of the Salvatore School. With Vardemus seemingly turning Josie over to the dark side, it's only a matter of time before he is revealed to be a villain on the show. One viewer tweeted, "Wait a second, the Headmaster is going to feed Josie's dark side. I knew he was sketchy," but many can't wait for Josie's dark side to flourish.

'Legacies' airs on The CW on Thursday nights.
