'Legacies' Season 2 Episode 2 sees Hope try to come to terms with the world post Malivore as events in Salvatore School get interesting
When 'Legacies' returned for its second season last week, we came back to a nearly new world. No one remembers, or rather, knows who Hope Mikaelson is, Landon is with Josie, and Alaric has been kicked out as Headmaster of the Salvatore School. But not everything is dim as Hope is thrown out of Malivore (as a potential tribrid, she is toxic to the being). Clarke also manages to make it out when a mysterious red-cloaked figure shows up at the Mystic Falls cemetery by the end of the episode. As Hope is preparing to leave town, a troll shows up so it looks like the series will follow the a-monster-a-week format for now.
Hope is determined to leave her old life behind but she stays back to fight the latest monster in the second episode of the new season. However, she runs into people from her old life and from the promo we see that it could be Alaric Saltzman, who is now Principal at his old workplace, Mystic Falls High. Could Hope enroll as a student at Mystic Falls High this time around? Meanwhile, a new school year has started and this time around Landon finds himself to be really popular -- possibly because everyone thinks Landon stopped Malivore. Landon's newfound popularity creates some tension with Josie.
MG is also back and this time he is determined to ask Lizzie out. But, once again his plans are foiled when a new vampire shows up at school -- the much-talked-about Sebastian who will apparently give off strong Damon Salvatore vibes. We will also meet the new Headmaster of the Salvatore School, Professor Vardemus, who as one fan said is a "supernatural supremacist". Vardemus believes that supernatural beings are superior and thinks that the world should be ruled by them.
There are already a few theories floating around. The second episode looks to be potentially heartbreaking as well in terms of Hope's and Alaric's encounter. Alaric pretty much played a father-figure to Hope in the first season and she is sure to feel this loss. Poor girl has been losing loved ones since we met her in 'The Originals'. We also wonder whether human-Rafael might be making an appearance in this episode -- Hope goes into the woods to catch the latest monster in the promo and she could come across wolf-Rafael and finally turn him back.
