WayV's Winwin to make acting debut with 'The Shadow', fans say 'dreams do come true'

‘The Shadow’ is a Chinese fantasy drama set during the Republican era and follows the story of Shen Zhiheng, an infamous vampire

For the fans who were manifesting ‘Winwin actor is real’, your wish has been heard. Earlier the NCT and WayV member was in the news for opening his personal agency. Winwin has been in China for his solo gigs since the second half of 2021. And while fans were wondering what he was up to, it was reported that he has opened a personal studio for his Chinese activities. The private agency will be managing all of Winwin’s activities when he is in China while his group activities with NCT and WayV will still be handled by SM Entertainment.

There had been several rumors that Winwin was set to debut soon as an actor. Well, they seem to be true since one of the responsibilities of the personal agency is to oversee Winwin’s acting projects. The WayV idol has often shown interest in acting and finally has a chance to expand his career. There were whispers that he had been cast in the Chinese drama ‘The Shadow’ aka ‘Ru Yue’. Well, on October 25 the casting announcements were revealed and along with it, Winwin was spotted at the opening ceremony of the production.

Winwin in 'The Shadow'

‘The Shadow’ is a Chinese fantasy drama set during the Republican era. It follows the story of Shen Zhiheng, an infamous vampire who was saved from being assassinated by a blind girl Milan and her best friend Situ Weilian. Vengo Gao will be playing the lead character Shen Zhiheng. Taiwanese actress Ouyang Nana is set to play Milan while Winwin has been cast as the second male lead Situ. Situ is 100 years old, is a surgeon and is described as cold and mysterious. Filming began on October 25.

Winwin has also been spending time with WayV member Ten. The Thai idol joined Winwin in China in the second half of 2021 following the release of his solo single ‘Paint Me Naked’ and collaborative track ‘Low Low’ with Yangyang. Additionally, both Ten and Winwin have also been scouted as brand ambassadors for Charlotte Tilbury’s China Magic Beauty line. At the same time, Ten appeared on the Chinese survival show ‘Street Dance of China Season 4’ as a guest performer.
