While LA fans are enjoying BTS’ concert at SoFi stadium, we also have the boys’ breaking records on the side. Apart from the global K-pop group becoming the first act to have four sold-out concerts at SoFi stadium, we also have individual members creating history. We first had the leader, RM becoming the second and youngest most credited Korean songwriter with 186 songs. And on December 2, we have members like Jin, Jimin, Jungkook and V breaking records.

Everyone’s favorite main dancer, Jimin solidified his position as a vocalist by becoming the first and only idol to have four of his solo songs crossing 100 million streams on Spotify. Fans had previously celebrated ‘Lie’, ‘Filter’ and ‘Serendipity’ reaching 100 million streams. And on December 1, it was reported that ‘Intro: Serendipity’, which is the intro of the BTS album ‘Love Yourself: Her’ had surpassed 100 million streams.

‘Dynamite’: BTS 1st Asian act to top Apple Music’s 2021 Most Streamed Songs chart

Jimin's 4 solo songs cross 100M streams

This is the fifth intro song ever to reach this milestone. At the same time, the full-length track ‘Serendipity’ crossed 170 million Spotify streams while ‘Filter’ has 227 million making Jimin the only K-pop soloist to have two songs with more than 170 million streams. Following these celebratory moments, we also had the oldest BTS member breaking records with his latest OST on December 2. Jin sang his first solo OST ‘Yours’ for the K-drama ‘Jirisan’. A day after the release, he broke records as it became the fastest solo track to top iTunes in 50 countries, topped Billboard Digital Song Sales chart and fastest K-pop solo OST to cross 5 million Spotify streams.

Jin tops iTunes in 99 countries and debuts on Billboard Japan

And now, it has been revealed that Jin broke two records on December 2. ‘Yours’ topped iTunes in 99 countries, making it the solo song with the most #1s on iTunes in 2021 beating Adele. Additionally, Jin’s OST also debuted at #66 on Billboard Japan Hot 100 becoming the first Korean OST to ever enter the chart. We also have the youngest member, Jungkook bagging solo achievements with ‘Still With You’. The SoundCloud song had been released as a gift for fans and crossed 600k Shazams. It was followed by his solo song ‘Euphoria’ also crossing 600k Shazams.

Jungkook is the 1st male idol with 2 songs with 600k Shazams

This makes Jungkook the first and only K-pop male idol to have two solo songs with 600k Shazams each. ‘Euphoria’ had previously topped Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart and become the longest-charting K-pop solo song on the chart on its third anniversary. It then beat PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ as the most-streamed solo song by a K-pop male idol with over 292 million Spotify streams. And while it was reported that V would be singing his second solo OST for his friend Choi Woo-sik’s drama, his first solo OST has made headlines.

V's OST becomes most-streamed of 2021

While Kim Taehyung aka V has sung the OST for his K-drama ‘Hwarang’, it was with Jin. His first solo OST was ‘Sweet Night’ for friend Park Seo-joon’s K-drama ‘Itaewon Class’. And while it was released in 2020, it is still making waves this year. According to Spotify Wrapped 2021, ‘Sweet Night’ is the most-streamed solo OST by a K-pop idol in 2021 with over 86 million streams. This makes it the second consecutive year for this milestone as ‘Sweet Night’ was also the most-streamed solo OST in 2020. At the same time, V is the 8th most-streamed K-pop male soloist of 2021 despite not releasing any new solo songs this year.
