Jimin first released his solo song ‘Filter’ in February 2020 as part of BTS' fourth K-pop studio album ‘Map of the Soul: 7’. Consisting of 20 tracks, there are several sub-unit and solo singles that the boys worked on and performed. And ‘Filter’ continues to make and break records even a year later. It has made history on iTunes by topping in several countries.

As of August 30, ‘Filter’ has achieved #1 on iTunes Worldwide in 114 countries. Venezuela was the latest country to join the list, helping Jimin’s track make this record. It is also the first BTS song to top in Venezuela and the third-highest charting BTS song on iTunes Worldwide. ‘Filter’ is also the second-highest solo charting song in the history of iTunes and the fourth-highest charting song ever on iTunes Worldwide.

Jimin’s ‘Filter’ makes iTunes and Spotify history

Additionally, ‘Filter’ has broken its own record by extending its record of being the highest-charting solo song by a BTS member. The Latin-pop single is also the only B-side track to achieve this milestone on iTunes Worldwide. Not only that, ‘Filter’ has crossed more than 193M streams on Spotify. Meanwhile, its album, ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ has surpassed 3.258 billion Spotify streams.

Looks like ‘Filter’ has a special place in ARMY’s heart as it also made Jimin the first K-pop artist to have 100M Spotify streams for three of his songs. The first two are ‘Lie’ and ‘Serendipity’. He also happens to be the fastest K-pop male artist to achieve this along with ‘Filter’ being the only K-pop solo song without a music video to reach this milestone.

Along with ’Filter’, Jimin also made news with his SoundCloud. The mixtape single ‘Christmas Love’ was uploaded on BTS’ SoundCloud last year for Christmas. And it has now reached 35M streams on the platform. Today seems to be a good day for him since he even made a personal record on Instagram. Jimin’s third concept photo for ‘Butter’ reached 9M likes on Instagram and it is his first Instagram post to cross this feat.

‘Filter record maker’

ARMY decided to trend ‘FILTER RECORD MAKER’ and ‘#FilterByJimin114Win’ on Twitter worldwide to celebrate and congratulate Jimin. They made posts like, “Filter jimin living in my mind rent free, Congratulations Jimin!” Another fan added, “Congratulations Jimin i'm so proud of you!!” “What good sight to wake up to Congratulations Jimin!!” posted one ARMY. Another commented, “He looked so ethereal while performing this masterpiece Congratulations Jimin!” One said, “So proud of u man u deserve everything way more to come.”
