Lindsay Lohan's movies back in the early 2000s were the ones that were highly anticipated and considered 'cool' ones. Has time changed? Let us hope not as the legendary actress, Jamie Lee Curtis, has apparently agreed that she is up for doing a 'Freaky Friday' sequel and has written to Disney about it. It was a fantasy-comedy film that was helmed by Mark Waters and written by Heather Hach and Leslie Dixon while being based on Mary Rodgers's 1972 novel of the same name.

It stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as a mother and daughter, respectively, whose bodies are switched by a mysterious and magical Chinese fortune cookie. The movie was considered a classic "sleepover" movie. The film was released in theaters on August 6, 2003, by Walt Disney Pictures and distributed by Buena Vista Pictures. Jamie Lee Curtis recently spoke to 'The View' in an interview where she confirmed that she has been in touch with Disney about a sequel of 'Freaky Friday'. She said, "I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney." She further continues saying, “Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who switches places. So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon… And simply, I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I wanna be a helicopter parent in today’s world, as an old lady.”



 

After this aired, the former 'Mean Girls' actress, Lindsay Lohan seemed to express interest in reprising her role of Anna Coleman by resharing Curtis’ Instagram post asking if she was “in” for a sequel according to TMZ. Shortly after this news surfaced, fans could barely keep it together and went on a rant fest on Twitter to express their feelings. A fan wrote, "If we get a Freaky Friday sequel I will absolutely never shut up about it," while another added, "oh this would be excellent." A fan tweeted, "Bro I’m so here for it," which was followed by another user tweeting, "Didn’t see that one coming, but if they’re up for it, we’re certainly in for a major treat." Another fan said, "Seriously don’t tease us like this, for real."



 



 



 



 



 

It is not yet confirmed by the banner if the sequel will happen or not but along with the stars even the fans are hopeful, However, both Curtis and Lohan have remained in touch over the years, as Curtis recently reminded fans when she recently told a funny anecdote about the pair’s unique texting habits.
