Is Yuta leaving NCT 127? Japanese idol responds to NCT Tokyo rumors

SM Entertainment announced that they were debuting a new sub-unit NCT Tokyo that had fans wondering if Yuta will be leading it

There is chaos in NCity as fans are not sure what is the future of NCT with their label SM Entertainment announcing new sub-units and members. Their label SM Entertainment revealed that they would be debuting NCT Hollywood and NCT Tokyo and were also auditioning for new members born after the 2000s. NCTzens (NCT’s fandom) had created an uproar as they claimed SM has not been able to treat the current members properly to add new ones. One of them happens to be Japanese member Yuta for whom everyone is worried.

After adding Sungchan and Japanese member Shotaro to NCT in 2020, SM gave them only one comeback with them staying musically inactive for the rest of the time. With the announcement of NCT Tokyo, fans think that it is a fixed sub-unit for Shotaro. But attention has also fallen on the second Japanese NCT member -- Yuta. While he is part of the 23-member group, he already has his fixed sub-unit NCT 127 that he has been a part of since 2016. And fans were afraid that he would be erased and put in NCT Tokyo instead. But there might be hope as Yuta himself has responded to the rumors.

Yuta talks about his status in NCT 127

It looks like the rumors of Yuta leaving NCT 127 for NCT Tokyo reached the Japanese idol himself. He has taken to responding to it which has quelled fans’ worries but also led to another fan theory. Yuta assured fans that no matter SM’s decisions, he would still be a part of his fixed sub-unit, “And I’m still NCT 127, so don’t worry.” But some now wonder if he will be pulling a Mark and Haechan who are in two sub-units – NCT Dream and NCT 127. While Yuta has shared he will be in NCT 127, he has not addressed if he will also be a part of NCT Tokyo or not.

But regardless of that speculation, fans are now happy that Yuta is not leaving NCT 127. One fan tweeted, “Hahaha yuta directly debunking the leader of nct tokyo allegations.” Another NCTzen commented, “Yuta saw yall so eager to kick him out of 127 just for your nct tokyo agenda and decided that he needed to start letting people know.” One fan said, “And NO ONE gives a damn about nct tokyo dont bother yuta with that ass idea.” Another joked, “He said f**k nct tokyo?” One NCTzen was moved, “Yuta telling us this making us all feeling secure Thank you love you.” Another wondered, “Oh thank yuta 😭 but i still feel like he will be part of nct tokyo become their leader and its fine as long as he still active in 127 and STILL A MEMBER of 127.”
