Is Kique OK? ‘The Voice’ star skips Top 10 Lives performance, delivers pre-recorded performance
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After surviving the top 13 elimination by the skin of his teeth, Robert 'Kique' Gomez was looking forward to delivering a spectacular performance to thank 'The Voice' fans for trusting him and keeping him in the NBC singing competition show. Unfortunately, when it was time for Kique to give his Top 10 performance, the Miami-based artist couldn't deliver the traditional live performance, and instead, the audience were treated to a pre-recorded clip of his performance.
For the Top 10 round, 'The Voice' fans picked 'Call Out My Name' as the song for Kique to perform to. The audience witnessed Kique rehearsing his performance alongside his mentor/ coach Gwen Stefani and feeling very excited to wow the audience. However, when it was his turn to perform, the show's host Carson Daly announced that Kique wasn't with them and that the show would air a pre-recorded clip of his performance that was filmed in a different location. Kique later showed up remotely to receive the coaches' feedback to his performance. But before the coaches could say anything, Kique thanked the fans for their support and expressed how he felt terrible about being unable to perform live on account of testing positive for Covid.
