'The Voice' won it big this year at the People Choice Awards, and producer Carson Daly couldn't be happier, or feel more blessed on the occasion. Daly might have accepted the award for the Competition Show of 2018 but was all vocal about his love for third wheeling with judge Blake Shelton, and former judge Gwen Stefani. As we caught up with him on the red carpet, he couldn't stop gushing about just how blessed he feels to have been able to embark on this journey.

"I didn't know. I was terrible in school... and I was scared to death. I really didn't know," Daly told MEAWW in an exclusive interview about his career. "And I dropped out of college - I went to junior college. I was trying to figure things out. I worked at a gas station... My parents were like 'If you didn't go to college, you gotta pay for your rent...'" he explained, before continuing with what had spurred it all.

"I just loved music, so I decided to be a DJ," he spilled. "I learned how to spin, I started DJing in clubs, that lead to the radio, that led to MTV and that lead to The Voice - and all of that just started from loving music."

The former TRL host and radio personality has also had quite the track record when it comes to interviews and speaking about the craziest ones, he shared: "I have a famous Mariah Carrey interview from TRL back in the day - that was interesting, to say the least. And of course, a couple of others. Marilyn Mansion was a good one!"

"Incidentally enough, there are 'a lot of New Year's Eves that I remember, and a lot of Spring Breaks that I don't remember," he quipped. "There's been a lot of crazy ones." As a producer for the reality music show, Daly has already won four Emmys. He became a host for the show back in 2011 and continues to be the same till date.

And for those wondering why we stressed on just how blessed he feels, Daly didn't shy away from announcing to the camera his emotions about being a producer for 'The Voice'.

"It's so fun. I never would have thought after MTV I would have stumbled upon something that would have been so perfect for me," he shared about his early days on the show. "I loved the show, obviously, the family that I get to spend time with  and the artists - it's been a blessing, to be a part of something like TRL when I was younger, and The Voice when I'm older, it's a real blessing."
