UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' Season 22's coach, Gwen Stefani, was metaphorically between rock and a hard place when it was time for her to pick a winner after the battles round between her team's Robert 'Kique' Gomez and Tanner Howe

As if pitting two of the vocal powerhouses from her team against each other wasn't a challenge enough, the celebrity coach made things more complicated for herself by choosing Simple minds' iconic song 'Don't You (*Forget About Me)' as the battles song! After intense rehearsals sessions with Gwen and battles advisor Sean Paul, the duo took to the stage to deliver their final performance. By the end of their duet, the celebrity coaches had nothing but praise for the duo. John Legend kicked off the feedback session by praising both Kique and Tanner's impeccable vocals but chose Tanner as the winner as he felt that Tanner performed the song like it was written for him. Blake Shelton felt that Kique was the winner for him because his voice was so different. Camila Cabello seconded Blake and agreed that Kique was the winner for her as well. It was finally Gwen's turn to pick the winner of the battles. After thinking long and hard, Gwen chose Kique as the winner, calling him a diamond in the rough for just being 18 years old and having such incredible talent.

"@gwenstefani #TheVoice You picked the wrong one, sorry," wrote a fan. "@gwenstefani #TheVoice Gwen!! I think you should have gone with Tanner," pointed out a fan.
