Was Sophia Hoffman eliminated for Spanish song choice? Fans dub 'The Voice' 2023 coaches 'unfair'

'The Voice' fans found Sofia's audition lovely and were quite disappointed when none of the judges turned for her

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The competition has already heated up since the return of 'The Voice' for a new season. Sadly, OG coach Blake Shelton will say goodbye to his lengthy tenure after this season. Season 23 of the show has already provided us with some very talented artists like Savion Wright, Jamar Langley, and Neil Salsic. 

A young artist who left her blind audition disappointed was Sophia Hoffman. Sophia is an 18-year-old singer from California who decided to be unique and chose to audition in Spanish. Though this may have been the reason she did not have a single coach turn for her. Fans believe that the coaches were unfair to Sophia and have questioned them on their decision.

Sofia's intriguing song choice 'Amor Eterno'

18-year-old Sophia decided to sing 'Amor Eterno' in Spanish, which is an iconic Mexican song. Sophia could hardly contain her excitement at the start of the audition and though she sang beautifully, she couldn't get any of the judges to turn. At one point in the song, it looked like there was hope for Sophia, as Kelly was hovering over the button, Niall was too, but in the end, neither pressed it. OG coach Blake even pointed out how the rest were looming over their buttons and Niall even apologized to the artist for not turning. Meanwhile, Kelly believes another song might have displayed Sophia's talent in a better way as she wanted to hear more highs and lows but didn't get that. Chance just says, it was fine and he hopes she keeps on singing. 

'Judges were not fair'

'The Voice' fans found Sofia's audition lovely and were quite disappointed when none of the judges turned for her. A lot of them feel that the judges were biased and didn't give Sofia a chance because she auditioned in Spanish. One fan tweeted, "I'm turned off that no one turned for Sophia. " Another one said, "Sophia has such a pretty voice. I hate none of the coaches turned. #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds." One more tweeted, "The voice judges were not fair to Sophia bc she sang in Spanish. The internet has questioned the judges' behavior as Sophia's performance had impressed the fans. Some even want Sophia to return, as one said, "I hope Sophia Hoffman comes back. #TheVoice." Another said, "If Ariana had been a judge this season, she would've turned for Sophia #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds." One more tweeted, "@kellyclarkson Why didn't you hit your button for Sophia?!! #TheVoice."
