LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Voice' Season 23 is off to a great start with four familiar names in the role of judges, Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Naill Horan and Chance the Rapper. Unfortunately, this will be Blake's last season as the OG judge will retire after this. After the premiere of the first season of 'The Voice' on March 6, 2023, it's time for more blind auditions with each coach bringing in a few notable members of their team!

The first episode of the show featured many talented performers, and some stood out from the crowd, including Savion Wright, the 'American Idol' alum who was given a four-chair turn and a block at the beginning of his performance. Week 2 of the blind auditions will feature many more seasoned performers and Jamar Langley. Jamar is an established singer-songwriter from Andrews, South Carolina. The singer started singing in a church when he was 6, and despite his stellar start, he was able to turn over 4 chairs during his blind auditions.

A little bit of nothing would be nice': Blake Shelton reveals why he's quitting 'The Voice' after 23 seasons

Who is Jamar Langley?

Jamar is a songwriter from Andrews, South Carolina, but now lives in Atlanta. He comes from a musical household and began singing in a church at the age of 6. At the age of 11, he began playing the keyboard, and later picked up the guitar and began making his own music. In 2007, he enrolled at Morris College in Sumter, South Carolina, but left after two years to focus entirely on his music career.

Jamar tied the knot in 2021 and is now a happily married man. Jamar released two new singles in 2022 — 'So Beautiful' and 'Believe Again' and also has an Ep, 'Holidays with Jamar Langley.' The artist also has some unreleased originals on his youtube channel. To further his musical career Jamar decided to audition for 'The Voice' Season 23.

Jamar Langley gets a 4-chair turn

Jamar chose 'Try Me' for his blind audition round on 'The Voice.' The singer delivered some striking notes and a very soulful tone, but the coaches were slow to turn around. It's the note near the end that got Blake and Chance to turn their chairs around, and soon Naill and Kelly follow suit. Blake even pointed out that Jamar had a less than "perfect" beginning, but then it got "good" and by the end it was "great." "You are the perfect example of not giving up, and I would be honored to have you on my team."

Chance also wants Jamar on his team because he believes the singer can go far. In the end, Jamar was able to convince all four judges despite his shaky beginnings and even sparked a small argument between Blake and Chance. The artist has chosen Team Chance, so stay tuned to find out what will happen to him in the next rounds.

'The Voice' airs every Monday and Tuesday at 8.pm ET on NBC. But if you miss it, you can watch 'The Voice' Season 23 on FuboTV or stream it on Peacock.
